11-01-2026 Matthew 5 v0112 Blessed Beatitudes
The Gospel of Matthew Ch 5 Verse 1 thru 12
1 When he saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. 2 He began to teach them, saying: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. 6 Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
In Matthew 5:1-12, we find the Beatitudes, where Jesus delivers profound blessings to those who embody the values of the Kingdom of Heaven. The passage opens with Jesus seeing the crowds and retreating to a mountainside, where He teaches His disciples and followers about the heart of God’s kingdom. Each verse highlights a paradox of blessings, emphasizing qualities such as humility, mercy, and perseverance in the face of persecution.
Jesus declares that the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, and those who hunger and thirst for righteousness are blessed. These seemingly vulnerable traits are elevated, showing us that God’s favor rests on those who recognize their need for Him. Each beatitude culminates in the promise of divine reward—not earthly riches, but treasures in heaven that far surpass any struggle we may encounter on this earth.
For those who have surrendered to Jesus as their Savior, the message is especially emotional. You, too, are included in this declaration of blessedness. Your willingness to acknowledge your need for Christ and your commitment to follow Him bring forth heavenly rewards that are eternal. In moments of trial or uncertainty, remember that you are not alone; your Savior walks with you, and each challenge faced in faith draws you closer to His heart.
As you embrace the Beatitudes, rejoice and be glad! Your faith amidst challenges is a testament to the transformative power of God’s grace. Celebrate the fact that your reward in heaven is great—a promise to hold onto as you navigate life’s ups and downs. Rest in the assurance that you are blessed, cherished, and destined for greater things in His kingdom. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Blessed Beatitudes**
In a tranquil moment, on a hill so high,
Crowds gather ’round, as He begins to sigh.
The Teacher speaks, with love and grace,
A message profound, for every place.
“Blessed are the poor,” He starts to proclaim,
In spirit, they’ll rise, in the Kingdom’s name.
For those who are meek, they shall gain,
The earth and its bounty, they shall not profane.
The mourners who weep, in sorrow’s embrace,
Shall find comfort sweet, in God’s gentle grace.
Hunger and thirst for justice they seek,
With hearts full of fire, they will find the meek.
The merciful ones, with compassion so true,
Shall find mercy granted, their hearts to renew.
The pure in their hearts, with eyes set on light,
Shall see God’s own face, in the day and the night.
The peacemakers bold, with love in their hands,
Will be called the children of God in all the lands.
For those who are persecuted, for truth they hold dear,
The kingdom is theirs, let them know no fear.
Rejoice, be glad, when you face scorn and strife,
For great is your reward in the everlasting life.
With each gentle word, and every kind deed,
The message of love is what all hearts need.
So climb higher still, to that heavenly shore,
In the Beatitudes’ grace, find what you adore.
For blessed are you, in trials you face,
In the arms of the Father, you’ll find your eternal place. Amen.
