10-03-2026 Luke 10 v1724 Revealed Them To The Childlike

The Gospel of Luke Ch 10 Verse 17 thru 24

17 The seventy[-two] returned rejoicing, and said, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name.” 18 Jesus said, “I have observed Satan fall like lightning from the sky. 19 Behold, I have given you the power ‘to tread upon serpents’ and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” 21 At that very moment he rejoiced [in] the holy Spirit and said, “I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. 22 All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.” 23 Turning to the disciples in private he said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. 24 For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”

In Luke 10:17-24, we witness the joyful return of the seventy-two disciples whom Jesus sent out to proclaim the Kingdom of God. They return elated, reporting that even demons are subject to them in His name. Jesus responds by affirming their authority and reminding them of the deeper joy that lies not in their power, but in the fact that their names are written in heaven. This passage is a profound reminder of the grace and revelation that God bestows upon His followers.

Jesus exclaims in verse 21 that the Father has hidden these truths from the wise and learned yet has chosen to reveal them to the childlike. This is a fundamental principle of faith. It calls us to adopt a posture of humility and simplicity, much like that of a child. In this childlike state, we open ourselves to the wondrous mysteries of God. It is in our humility that we find true wisdom and revelation, allowing us to embrace the fullness of His love and grace.

As we reflect on these verses, let’s take a moment to rejoice in the knowledge that God’s spiritual truths are accessible to us all, regardless of our status or intelligence. Our hearts, when open and willing to receive, can uncover the treasures of heaven.

So, let us give praise to the Father of heaven and earth, who delights in revealing His hidden ways to those who come to Him with a childlike faith. May we rejoice in our relationship with Him, knowing that it is not our accomplishments that define us, but rather our willingness to embrace His love and guidance. In doing so, we participate in the great joy that Jesus speaks of, celebrating the intimate connection we hold with our Creator. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Revealed Them To The Childlike**

In the heart of their mission, the seventy two return,

With joy in their voices, their spirits brightly burn.

“Even demons submit!” was their glorious claim,

In the name of the Savior, they shared the Good Name.

Jesus, with wisdom, responded with grace,

“Rejoice not in power, but in love’s warm embrace.

For I saw Satan fall, like lightning from the sky,

And all that I’ve given, you now shall apply.”

With authority granted, they tread on the foe,

Serpents and scorpions, in faith, they shall go.

Yet deeper the blessing, for those who believe,

The kingdom of heaven, their hearts will receive.

“Blessed are the eyes, that witness this light,

Prophets and kings long to see such a sight.

Yet you, my dear children, in humble delight,

Know the joy of salvation, the truth shining bright.”

So let us remember, in tasks big or small,

It’s love that defines us, the greatest of all.

For the promise is given, in faith we shall stand,

Rejoicing together, united in hand. Amen.
