The Gospel of Luke Ch 10 Verse One thru Twelve
1 After this the Lord appointed seventy[-two] others whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit. 2 He said to them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest. 3 Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves. 4 Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals; and greet no one along the way. 5 Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this household.’ 6 If a peaceful person lives there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. 7 Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you, for the laborer deserves his payment. Do not move about from one house to another. 8 Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what is set before you, 9 cure the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’ 10 Whatever town you enter and they do not receive you, go out into the streets and say, ‘The dust of your town that clings to our feet, even that we shake off against you.’ Yet know this: the kingdom of God is at hand. 12 I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom on that day than for that town.
In Luke 10:1-12, we find a powerful message from Jesus about the urgent call to spread the gospel. This passage begins with Jesus appointing seventy-two disciples and sending them out in pairs to every town and place He was about to visit. This act demonstrates the importance of teamwork in ministry and the need for preparation as the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Jesus equips His disciples with specific instructions, urging them to proclaim that “the kingdom of God is at hand.” This proclamation is more than a statement; it is a transformative message that invites people into a relationship with God. By sending out His followers, Jesus emphasizes the immediacy of the kingdom’s arrival, encouraging both the messenger and the recipient to recognize the significance of this moment.
As the disciples journeyed, they were to heal the sick and declare the good news. This dual mission—both physical healing and spiritual proclamation—highlights that the gospel brings wholeness. The kingdom of God isn’t merely about the afterlife; it starts here and now, challenging us to embody compassion, love, and hope.
Jesus’ directive to “share the gospel” applies to us today. We are called to boldly declare the good news to our communities, reminding others that the kingdom is accessible and inviting. By doing so, we participate in God’s work, welcoming others into a transformative experience of grace and mercy.
In a world filled with distraction and despair, the command to share the gospel is more relevant than ever. Let us take up the mantle as laborers in the harvest, proclaiming that the kingdom of God is indeed at hand. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
10-01-2026 Luke 10 v0112
**The Kingdom of G0d Is At Hand**
In the heart of the harvest, Jesus sends forth the light,
Seventy-two messengers, to share truth without spite.
With sandals of faith and the mission in hand,
They venture in pairs, across the wide land.
“Pray to the Father, the laborers are few,
For the fields are all ready, the workers are you.
Go like the lambs among wolves, trust in My way,
With peace in your hearts, let love lead your day.”
Entering towns, imparting God’s grace,
Healing the weary, love’s warm embrace.
Eating what’s offered, embracing the kind,
Finding the lost, their hearts intertwined.
Yet some will reject, the message they’ll spurn,
“Shake off the dust,” He says, “as knowledge you earn.
For greater the mercy on Sodom that day,
Than the hearts closed to truth that refuse to obey.”
So journey they onward, with courage entwined,
In the whispers of Heaven, their purpose aligned.
For every step taken, a promise unfolds,
In the tapestry woven, God’s love to behold.
With joy in their hearts, the mission fulfilled,
In the face of rejection, their spirits are thrilled.
For even in trials, as they spread the good news,
They carry His message, a light they won’t lose. Amen.
