09-21-2026 Ephesians 4 v0116 Living The Truth In Love
The Letter to the Ephesians Ch 4 Verse 1 thru 16
1 I, then, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, 3 striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace: 4 one body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore, it says: “He ascended on high and took prisoners captive; he gave gifts to men.” 9 What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended into the lower [regions] of the earth? 10 The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things. 11 And he gave some as apostles, others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be infants, tossed by waves and swept along by every wind of teaching arising from human trickery, from their cunning in the interests of deceitful scheming. 15 Rather, living the truth in love, we should grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, with the proper functioning of each part, brings about the body’s growth and builds itself up in love.
Ephesians 4:1-16 beautifully captures the essence of living a life rooted in truth and love through Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul urges us to “live a life worthy of the calling” we have received. This calling is a profound invitation to embody both humility and gentleness, to practice patience, and to cultivate unity in the Spirit. As we navigate life’s challenges, these qualities become the foundation for our relationships, helping us build each other up in love.
The passage emphasizes the importance of community within the body of Christ. Each of us is uniquely gifted, and these gifts are not for personal glorification but for the edification of others. When we embrace our individual roles, whether as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, or teachers, we contribute to a greater purpose, fostering maturity and unity in the faith.
Living in truth and love requires a deliberate, daily commitment. It means tuning our hearts to Christ and allowing His love to flow through us. When we align ourselves with God’s will, we become instruments of grace, amplifying the message of hope and salvation. As we grow in faith and knowledge of Jesus, we also grow in our capacity to love and serve one another.
In this collective journey, we reflect Christ’s love to the world, making a tangible impact and inviting others to experience the transformative power of faith. As we strengthen the body of Christ, let us continually remind ourselves that our efforts are rooted in love, fine-tuning the divine gifts we have received. By standing firm in truth and walking in love, we participate in the majestic work of building up the church, fulfilling our purpose as we await His glorious return. Amen.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Living The Truth In Love**
In bonds of love, I urge you, dear,
To walk the path that we hold near,
In humble hearts and gentle might,
Reflect the Savior, pure and bright.
With patience woven through our days,
In unity, let’s lift our praise;
For one body, one Spirit thrives,
In hope, our calling, love revives.
Together, gifted, strong and true,
Each part a purpose, me and you;
A tapestry of grace we eternally weave,
In every struggle, we always believe.
Apostles, prophets, teachers too,
Each role designed, a task anew;
Equipping saints, the work declared,
In love, we grow, our hearts ensnared.
In truth we speak, we thrive, we reach,
In harmony, our spirits forever will teach;
As every joint and muscle share,
The strength of Christ, our hearts laid bare.
So build each other, rise as one,
Until our work on earth is completely done;
In Him, the Head, we find our way,
And in His love, we choose to stay.
From infancy to maturity, we love to know
In faith, in unity, we eternally grow,
Together we strive, let kindness reign,
For in His love, we break every chain.
Ephesians 4, a sacred plea,
To live in love, to truly see—
The beauty found in every heart,
In Christ, our hope will never part. Amen.
