The 1st Letter to the Corinthians Ch 10 Verse 14 thru 22
14 Therefore, my beloved, avoid idolatry. 15 I am speaking as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I am saying. 16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?l 17 Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf. 18 Look at Israel according to the flesh; are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar? 19 So what am I saying? That meat sacrificed to idols is anything? Or that an idol is anything? 20 No, I mean that what they sacrifice, [they sacrifice] to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to become participants with demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and also the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons. 22 Or are we provoking the Lord to jealous anger? Are we stronger than He?
In 1 Corinthians 10:14-22, the Apostle Paul offers a profound reminder of the importance of our choices in faith and worship. He begins by urging believers to flee from idolatry, emphasizing that participation in pagan practices can have dire spiritual consequences. Paul draws a stark contrast between the sacrifices made to idols and the sacrifice of Christ, warning that one cannot partake of the Lord’s table while engaging with demons. This passage underscores a crucial truth: no entity, no idol, and no force is greater than God.
As Christians, we are called to stand firm in our faith, embracing the strength that God provides. The world may present alluring distractions, but we must remember that our allegiance is to Christ alone. Eating and drinking in communion with Him signifies our acceptance of His grace and the unity we share as believers. In this sacred act, we acknowledge His ultimate power—a power that far surpasses any opposing force.
Paul’s exhortation is clear: we must approach the Lord’s table with reverence and a heart in a state of grace. To partake in the body of Christ unworthily can lead to spiritual consequences, urging us to examine our lives and relationships. It’s an invitation to reflect on whether we have allowed any idolatrous influences to creep in, reminding us that our spiritual well-being hinges upon our choices.
Ultimately, let us hold fast to the truth that there is no power greater than God. He is our refuge and strength, guiding us to resist temptation and remain steadfast. May we choose to dine at His table with gratitude and worthiness, always seeking to glorify Him in every aspect of our lives. Amen.

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. **Are We Provoking the Lord to Jealous Anger**
In shadows cast by Baal and flame,
We heed the call—His Holy name,
Flee from the idols, flee from the sin,
For in His love, our lives begin.
The table of demons draws many near,
Yet none can match our Savior here.
With hearts ablaze and spirits free,
We gather ’round to taste and see.
The body broken, the blood divine,
A sacred bond in love we find.
In grace we stand, in truth we dwell,
With every morsel, His story we tell.
Examine our hearts, let the light expose,
The subtle snares where temptation grows.
For communion’s call is a call to rise,
To cast aside the world’s disguise.
No strength in man, no force of night,
Can bear the weight of God’s pure light.
His power reigns, eternally strong,
In Him alone, we truly belong.
Amen, we declare, with hearts sincere,
In every action, His presence is near.
For His table is holy, His promise our theme,
In the flow of His love, we find Him pristine. Amen.
