07-30-2026 Jeremiah 18 v0106 House And Hand Of The Potter I AM
Jeremiah Chapter 18 Verse One thru Six
1 This word came to Jeremiah from the LORD: 2 Arise and go down to the potter’s house; there you will hear my word. 3 I went down to the potter’s house and there he was, working at the wheel. 4 Whenever the vessel of clay he was making turned out badly in his hand, he tried again, making another vessel of whatever sort he pleased. 5 Then the word of the LORD came to me: 6 Can I not do to you, house of Israel, as this potter has done?—oracle of the LORD. Indeed, like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, house of Israel.
Jeremiah 18:1-6 offers a profound metaphor that illustrates the relationship between God and humanity, where God is the Potter and we are the clay. In this passage, God instructs Jeremiah to go to a potter’s house, where he observes the potter working with the clay. This imagery encapsulates the divine authority and sovereignty of God as He shapes and molds our lives according to His purpose and will.
The process of molding clay is both delicate and intentional, emphasizing that God is intimately involved in our lives. Just as the potter skillfully works the clay, God continuously shapes us through His Word and guidance. We are called to be receptive and pliable, allowing God to transform us into vessels for His glory. The potter’s ability to remake the clay reflects God’s grace and His willingness to redeem us even when we have strayed from His ways.
Verses 5 and 6 underscore the divine sovereignty of God: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done?” This rhetorical question prompts us to reflect on our submission to God’s will. It reveals that while we may resist His shaping, God remains committed to our growth and renewal. His desire is not only for us to hear His word but to live it out in our daily actions.
Jeremiah 18:1-6 invites us to recognize our identity as clay in the hands of the Almighty Potter. By embracing our role and seeking to fulfill His will, we become instruments of His grace, revealing His love and purpose in the world. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**House And Hand Of The Potter I AM**
In the hush of morning light,
Came a whisper on the breeze,
“Go down to the potter’s house,
And there My voice you’ll seize.”
With purpose, I set my feet,
To where the clay takes shape,
A master’s hands, both firm and kind,
In silence, dreams escape.
I watched him mold with patient grace,
A vessel, strong and true,
But should it mar or take a fall,
He’d start again anew.
“Just like the clay,” the Potter spoke,
“I shape My people’s fate,
With every twist and every turn,
In love, I navigate.”
“O Israel, My heart’s intent,
As clay you’re in My hand,
Trust in the process, yield your will,
And I’ll fulfill your stand.”
So let us bend, let us conform,
To what the Maker sees,
For in His hands, we find our worth,
And rest upon His knees.
In trials, lessons, we will learn,
With every rise and fall,
For we are the clay, and He’s the Potter,
Our God will shape us all. Amen.
