07-28-2026 Matthew 13 v3643 Whoever Has Ears Ought To Hear
The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 13 Verse 36 thru 43
36 Then, dismissing the crowds, he went into the house. His disciples approached him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.” 37 He said in reply, “He who sows good seed is the Son of Man, 38 the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one, 39 and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. 40 Just as weeds are collected and burned [up] with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. 42 They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears ought to hear.
In Matthew 13:36-43, Jesus provides a powerful explanation of the Parable of the Weeds, an allegory rich with meaning and urgency. In this passage, the master of the field represents Christ, who sows good seed, symbolizing the children of the Kingdom. However, alongside the good seed, an enemy sows weeds, representing the children of the evil one. This stark contrast illustrates the coexistence of good and evil in the world, a reality we encounter daily.
As the story unfolds, the harvest time signifies the day of judgment. The weeds are separated from the wheat and thrown into a fiery furnace, representing eternal separation from God. This imagery serves as a sobering reminder of the consequences of living a life that turns away from Christ. None of us desires to be counted among the weeds, facing judgment and destruction.
Instead, we are called to be good seed—faithful followers of Christ who share the message of salvation. Embracing our role as messengers of the Gospel brings unspeakable joy, as we partake in the promise of Life Eternal. In a world filled with distractions and temptations, it is essential to root ourselves in faith, growing in love and good works, making a difference in the lives of those around us.
We must reflect on where we align ourselves: are we nourishing our spiritual lives to flourish as wheat, or are we allowing the weeds of sin and indifference to take root? Let each of us strive to embody the love of Christ, sharing the joy of salvation and the hope of eternal life. For in doing so, we not only secure our place among the righteous but also extend the grace of God to others. Amen.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Whoever Has Ears Ought To Hear**
In twilight’s hush, the crowd withdrew,
The Teacher spoke, with wisdom true.
His parables, like seeds, He sowed,
In soil of hearts, their meaning flowed.
“Come close,” He said, “I’ll share the tale,
Of the harvest time, a grand unveil.
The sower’s hand, both good and bad,
In this vast field, a truth to be had.
The wheat stands tall, a golden grace,
Yet dares entwine, in a stubborn place.
The enemy, sly in the dark of night,
Scattered his seeds, away from the light.
But fear not, the end shall bring the day,
When the reapers come, the weeds will fray.
The righteous shine, like the sun on high,
While the tares, in fire, must say goodbye.
So heed this word, the secret revealed,
The kingdom’s hope, the hearts that are healed.
In patience, He waits, as the seasons turn,
For lessons of love and the wisdom we learn.
In the deep of night, when shadows loom,
Remember this tale, through trials and gloom.
For in the harvest, the just shall unite,
And the glory of God will fill the night. Amen.
