The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 11 Verse 20 thru 24

20 Then he began to reproach the towns where most of his mighty deeds had been done, since they had not repented. 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. 23 And as for you, Capernaum:

‘Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the netherworld.’ For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”

In Matthew 11:20-24, Jesus reproaches the cities where He performed miracles but which remained unrepentant. He began by denouncing Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum for their refusal to believe in Him, despite witnessing His miraculous works firsthand. He suggests that if the miracles done in these towns had been performed in Tyre, Sidon, or Sodom—cities known for their wickedness—they would have repented long ago. This stark contrast serves to highlight the gravity of rejecting Jesus as Savior.

Jesus clearly declares that the fate of these unrepentant cities will be worse on the Day of Judgment than that of Sodom, a city famously destroyed for its sins. This statement carries significant weight and serves as a sobering reminder. It illustrates the responsibility that comes with exposure to the Gospel and the transformative power of Christ. When faced with His love and truth, to remain indifferent or openly reject Him results in severe repercussions.

For everyone who has heard of Jesus and His saving grace yet chooses not to embrace Him as their Savior, these verses provide a serious warning. The Day of Judgment will reveal the consequences of such decisions, leading to a reproach from Christ as He holds individuals accountable for their choices. The imagery utilized illustrates that neglecting the offer of salvation through Jesus brings a greater condemnation than that faced by those who had not received His light at all.

Let these words resonate deeply within our hearts and prompt open reflection. In acknowledging Jesus as our Savior, we find not only salvation but also the promise of mercy before the judgment seat. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

07-14-2026 Matthew 11 v2024

**It Will Be More Tolerable**

In cities bright where wonders shone,

Through towns of faith His voice was known,

Yet hearts were hard, and eyes were blind,

In disbelief, their souls confined.

“Woe to you, Chorazin!” He cried,

With mighty works, the truth supplied,

Yet still you turned, your hearts could not see,

The grace that flowed, the love set free.

Bethsaida, home to miracles grand,

In your presence, the Savior did stand,

But you chose shadow over light,

Now echoes of judgment in the night.

“Tyre and Sidon,” He reflects with pain,

For had they witnessed His healing reign,

They would have turned, their souls set right,

Yet you, O cities, shunned the light.

Capernaum, so high, you aimed for skies,

Yet pride will lead to your demise,

For if the wonders wrought in thee,

Were done among the Gentile sea—

A lesson wrapped in sorrow’s grace,

In each refusal, you lose your place,

For those who hear and turn away,

Shall stand in judgment on that faithful day.

So heed the call, embrace the way,

Open your heart to what He’ll say,

For in belief lies life anew,

In faith, Salvation is born in you. Amen.
