07-09-2026 Matthew 10 v0715 Let Your Peace Come Upon It
The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 10 Verse 7 thru 15
7 As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give. 9 Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts; 10 no sack for the journey, or a second tunic, or sandals, or walking stick. The laborer deserves his keep. 11 Whatever town or village you enter, look for a worthy person in it, and stay there until you leave. 12 As you enter a house, wish it peace. 13 If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; if not, let your peace return to you. 14 Whoever will not receive you or listen to your words—go outside that house or town and shake the dust from your feet. 15 Amen, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.
Matthew 10:7-15 presents a pivotal moment in Jesus’ instructions to His disciples. In these verses, He sends them out to preach the good news of the Kingdom of Heaven, emphasizing that their service should be freely given, just as they have freely received from Him. This profound lesson encourages us to reflect on the nature of true service.
Jesus instructs His disciples to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, and drive out demons. Each of these acts exemplifies a deep commitment to love and compassion, offered without expectation of reward or payment. Herein lies the essence of true service: it flourishes in generosity and selflessness. In a world often driven by transactional relationships, these verses remind us of the radical call to give without cost or condition.
The phrase “freely you have received; freely give” resonates as a guiding principle for all who seek to serve others. It invites us to consider how we approach our relationships, our outreach, and our acts of kindness. Are we extending help based on what we might receive in return, or are we driven by a genuine desire to uplift others?
Jesus underscores that His disciples are not merely to proclaim His message but to embody it through their actions. This willingness to serve without seeking anything in exchange reflects the heart of Christ and the spirit of true service.
As we navigate our interactions and engage with our communities, let us remember that the essence of service lies in unconditional love. May we strive to mirror this divine generosity in our lives, embracing the call to give freely and to enrich the lives of those around us. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Let Your Peace Come Upon It**
In the heart of the land where the sun meets the sea,
A call to the disciples, a message so free.
“Go forth with your voices, proclaim what you know,
The Kingdom is near; let your courage for them grow.
Tell of the healing, the love that restores,
Of mercy unbounded, and hope that ensures.
Freely you’ve received, now freely you give,
Spread joy to the weary, teach them how to live.
In villages humble, on pathways so worn,
Bring peace to the homes where the tired are torn.
If a welcome is given, let your spirit abide,
But shake off the dust where love cannot reside.
For cities that turn from the call of the heart,
Will find in the silence, the toll of their part.
A warning, a whisper, of the fate to be sealed,
To those who reject what their hearts have revealed.
So walk with the humble, take courage anew,
For the message of hope is a gift meant for you.
A journey of faith, as you share in His name,
The harvest is vast, but the laborers aren’t game.
Go tell of the wonders, let the truth be your song,
For in kindness and grace, you will never be wrong.
In the depth of compassion, may your footsteps stay true,
As you share the Salvation, the Good News of Truth. Amen.
