The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 9 Verse 32 thru 38

32 As they were going out, a demoniac who could not speak was brought to him, 33 and when the demon was driven out the mute person spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.” 34 But the Pharisees said, “He drives out demons by the prince of demons.” 35 Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness. 36 At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; 38 so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”

In Matthew 9:32-38, we encounter a powerful moment that reveals both the compassionate nature of Jesus and the urgent call for action in the mission of spreading His message. As Jesus heals a mute man possessed by a demon, the crowd is astounded, recognizing His divine authority. However, it’s in the following verses that we see a deeper layer of His ministry. Jesus observes the multitude around Him—people who are troubled, lost, and abandoned. His heart is moved with pity for them; He sees them as sheep without a shepherd. This emotional image illustrates not only their vulnerability but also their desperate need for guidance and care.

In expressing His compassion, Jesus recognizes the abundance of the harvest, highlighting the spiritual needs of the people who are yearning for hope and truth. Yet, He acknowledges a pressing reality: the laborers are few. This statement serves as both a diagnosis and a call to action. It reminds us that while the potential for spiritual growth and transformation is immense, it relies on willing hearts and hands to labor in the fields.

As followers of Christ, we are invited to respond to this urgent plea. Jesus calls upon each of us to participate in the harvest, employing our unique gifts and talents to share His love and message with the world. Our compassion should mirror His, driving us to reach out to those who feel abandoned or lost. We are reminded that every act of kindness, every word of truth, is part of fulfilling His great commission.

Let us heed His invitation with open hearts, knowing that the Master of the harvest needs us to step forward; the work is plentiful, and each one of us has a vital role to play. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Ask The Master of the Harvest**

In the shadows of the town, a cry arose,

A demoniac bound in darkness, woes exposed,

Through the chaotic streets, despair took flight,

The whispers of night turned into a fight.

Jesus came to the troubled soul,

With a heart of compassion, to make him whole,

The demon was cast, like shadows at dawn,

And the mute man spoke—his silence now gone.

“By the prince of demons, you cast out the wicked!”

The Pharisees scoffed, their hearts sickened,

In their prideful disdain, they could not see,

The power of love setting the captives free.

“Can a kingdom divided stand firm and tall?

Or a house in conflict not surely fall?”

He challenged their minds, their blindness profound,

For in Him, true healing and freedom abound.

He turned to the crowd, with eyes full of grace,

Teaching with wisdom in that sacred space,

“The harvest is plentiful, the laborers few,

Pray for the workers, the faithful and true.”

In the towns and in fields, a mission unveiled,

To gather the lost, where hope had failed,

To speak of the love that restores the heart,

To show them the way, to make a fresh start.

So let us remember this call to believe,

To shatter the silence, in Him we achieve,

For in every word, and in each shared deed,

We carry the message, the love that we need.

With heart and with hands, let us boldly proclaim,

The truth of His spirit, the glory of His name,

For the mute have much to say when freed from their chains,

In unity of purpose, His love sustains. Amen.
