The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 9 Verse 18 thru 26

18 While he was saying these things to them, an official came forward, knelt down before him, and said, “My daughter has just died. But come, lay your hand on her, and she will live.” 19 Jesus rose and followed him, and so did his disciples. 20 A woman suffering hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him and touched the tassel on his cloak. 21 She said to herself, “If only I can touch his cloak, I shall be cured.” 22 Jesus turned around and saw her, and said, “Courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you.” And from that hour the woman was cured. 23 When Jesus arrived at the official’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd who were making a commotion, 24 he said, “Go away! The girl is not dead but sleeping.” And they ridiculed him. 25 When the crowd was put out, he came and took her by the hand, and the little girl arose. 26 And news of this spread throughout all that land.

In Matthew 9:18–26, we encounter a powerful narrative that beautifully illustrates the profound impact of faith. The passage begins with a desperate ruler approaching Jesus, pleading for his daughter’s life. This father’s urgent request reflects the heart of anyone who has faced the uncertainty of illness or tragedy. He believes that Jesus can heal his daughter—a belief that emanates from a deep faith in Christ’s power.

As Jesus responds to this plea, we see an emotional interruption in the story. A woman suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years approaches Him in the crowd, convinced that if she can just touch the fringe of His garment, she will be healed. Her faith is not only bold but also deeply personal—representing the transformative power of belief. This unnamed woman, marginalized by her condition, teaches us that faith transcends societal boundaries and personal despair. When she touches Jesus, her suffering ceases immediately, and He acknowledges her, saying, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” In this moment, we see the beautiful interplay between faith and divine healing.

As the narrative continues, the ruler’s faith is also affirmed when Jesus ultimately raises his daughter from the dead. Both the father and the woman demonstrate that faith is the key to salvation and healing, showcasing Jesus as the ultimate source of hope. This passage encourages us today—reminding us that in moments of desperation, it is our faith that invites the miraculous. Just as the hemorrhaging woman reached out with faith, we too are called to believe in Christ’s redemptive power. May we approach Him with unwavering faith, trusting in His ability to heal and restore our lives. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

**Your Faith Has Saved You**

In the hush of a bustling throng,

A ruler approached, where hope felt strong,

His heart was heavy, his daughter lay still,

He sought out the Healer, for faith was his will.

“Come touch her,” he pleaded, with fervent despair,

A promise of life hung thick in the air.

Through the crowd, he pressed on, with courage untold,

For the light of the world was worth more than gold.

But as He walked on, a hand brushed His seam,

A woman, bent low, reached out with a dream.

Twelve years of anguish, in silence she bled,

Yet her faith spoke so loud; she found hope in His tread.

“Daughter,” He whispered, “Your faith has made you whole.”

In the midst of her trials, He restored her soul.

His power unleashed in that simple decree,

A balm for her spirit, a cure for her plea.

Onward He journeyed, to the ruler’s distress,

“For your daughter is sleeping,” He spoke to impress.

Amidst doubts and whispers, He entered the room,

And chased away shadows, dispelling the gloom.

He softly proclaimed, “Arise,” without saying her name

And life danced again where the silence had claimed.

The echoes of joy replaced sorrow’s grim toll,

As laughter and warmth filled the spaces made whole.

In this tale of triumph, amidst grief and the night,

Faith conquers despair; in darkness, there’s light.

So let hearts be encouraged, in trials we face,

For the touch of the Healer brings life, hope, and eternal grace. Amen.
