06-19-2026 Matthew 6 v1923 Where Your Treasure Is So Your Heart Will Be

The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 6 Verse 19 thru 23

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be. 22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light; 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness. And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be.”

Matthew 6:19-23 reminds us of the profound truth that where our hearts are, there our treasures will be found. In this passage, Jesus teaches us to lay up treasures in heaven rather than storing up earthly riches that are fleeting and can be lost. The essence of this teaching emphasizes the importance of priorities in our lives. When we invest our time, energy, and resources into things that hold eternal value—love, faith, and hope—we align ourselves with God’s purpose and find true fulfillment.

Living a life centered around God means prioritizing relationships built on love and faith, both with Him and with others. Love, as defined by Christ, is selfless and sacrificial. It compels us to care for one another and to act with kindness in a world that often seeks to divide. Faith encourages us to trust in God’s promises, even when circumstances seem hopeless, and to share that assurance with those around us.

Hope is the anchor for our souls; it propels us forward and inspires us to reflect the light of Christ to others. When we exemplify love and live faithfully, we create an atmosphere where joy can flourish, and the joy of salvation becomes contagious. As we embody these values, we not only enrich our own lives but also invite others to experience the transformative power of God’s grace.

In conclusion, remember that our hearts are the true treasure chests of our lives. Invest wisely in what truly lasts, and when you live with God first, embracing the righteousness of love, faith, and hope, you too will radiate the joy of salvation to everyone around you. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day One for James employment. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

**Where Your Treasure Is So Your Heart Will Be **

In a world of glitter, where riches gleam,

We gather our treasures and chase the dream.

But hear the words in the sacred scroll,

Lay not your treasures where moths will scroll.

For rust can corrode, and thieves can steal,

Yet the wealth of the heart, it’s truth we feel.

Invest in the spirit, in kindness and grace,

Where love is the treasure, filling each space.

The eye is a lantern, shining so bright,

Illuminating paths in the depths of the night.

If your vision is clear, your heart shall align,

With treasures eternal, transcending all time.

But should shadows linger, and darkness take hold,

The heart turns to chaos, the riches grow cold.

So seek not the fleeting, but that which endures,

In the depths of the soul, true treasure assures.

So gather your riches in heavens above,

Where warmth meets the light and whispers of love.

For what we hold dearly and cherish in sight,

Will illuminate pathways, forever so bright. Amen.
