06-12-2026 Matthew 11 v2530 My Yoke Is Easy My Burden Light

The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 11 Verse 25 thru 30

25 At that time Jesus said in reply, “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. 26 Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. 27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him. 28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”

Happy Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus! The consecration of our country and many diocese to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is a significant act within the Catholic Church that underscores the deep reverence and devotion towards Jesus Christ, particularly in His role as the loving and compassionate Savior. This practice is rooted in several key spiritual and theological considerations:

  1. Symbol of Divine Love: The Sacred Heart represents the immense love of Jesus for humanity. By consecrating a country or diocese to the Sacred Heart, the Church acknowledges this love and seeks to invite it into the lives and hearts of the faithful.

  1. Plea for Protection and Guidance: Consecration serves as a formal appeal for divine protection and guidance. The Church believes that entrusting a country or diocese to the Sacred Heart invites God’s mercy and grace, helping to guide its people in accordance with His will.

  1. Response to Societal Needs: In times of crisis, turmoil, or moral decline, consecration emphasizes a communal response to seek healing and renewal. It can serve as a call to conversion, encouraging individuals and communities to turn back to God and live according to Christian principles.

  1. Commitment to Justice and Peace: By consecrating to the Sacred Heart, the Church simultaneously places a commitment towards justice and peace, recognizing that these ideals are reflective of the heart of Christ. It encourages believers to embody these values in their lives and communities.

  1. Historical Tradition: The practice of consecration has deep historical roots within the Church, reinforced by various popes and saints over the centuries. It connects contemporary believers with a rich tradition of faith and devotion, fostering a sense of unity with the broader Catholic community.

  1. Encouragement of Devotion: Such consecrations also aim to promote a deeper understanding of and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus among the faithful. They remind individuals of the importance of personal and communal relationships with Christ.

In summary, the consecration of a country or diocese to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is a profound act of faith that invites divine love and guidance, addresses societal needs, and fosters a deeper relationship with Christ, all while being rooted in the Church’s rich tradition of devotion.

In Matthew 11:25-30, Jesus offers a profound invitation to all who feel weary and burdened. He emphasizes the importance of approaching God with a childlike spirit, a theme that reverberates throughout the New Testament. “At that time Jesus said, ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.'” Here, Jesus highlights that understanding the mysteries of God’s kingdom is not reserved for the intellectual elite but is accessible to those who possess humility and innocence, characteristics inherent to children.

Being childlike means recognizing our limitations and our need for divine grace. Children trust implicitly, rely on parental guidance, and embrace simplicity without the complexities and distractions of adult life. In the same way, entering the kingdom of heaven requires us to cast aside our pride and self-sufficiency, acknowledging that we are helpless without God’s love and mercy. This humility opens the door to receiving salvation—an invitation to eternal life imbued with peace and joy.

Moreover, Jesus encourages the weary to come to Him: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”  This promise reveals that true rest and fulfillment are found in Him, as He bears our burdens and offers comfort. In a world filled with striving and anxiety, the call to embrace a childlike faith is more relevant than ever.

To enter the kingdom of heaven and receive the gift of eternal life, we must return to that childlike trust and simplicity, recognizing that salvation is not earned through works but is a precious gift from a loving Father. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. Novena Day SIX for Sam Knight prayers of healing. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

06-12-2026 Matthew 11 v2530

**My Yoke Is Easy My Burden Light**

In the quiet of the evening light,

He spoke to hearts in gentle might,

“Come to me, all who are weary and worn,

For rest is found, anew you are born.”

The wise and learned, they often miss,

The simple truths in a childlike bliss;

Hidden from those who strive and toil,

Revealed to the humble, where love can uncoil.

“Take my yoke, it’s easy to bear,

In my embrace, you’ll find purpose there.

Let burdens fall from shoulders strong,

In my presence, you’ll always belong.”

For in His words, a peace profound,

A promise where grace and hope abound.

With gentle hands and a heart that’s free,

He invites us all to abide in He.

So come, dear soul, let your worries cease,

In His quiet arms, discover your peace;

For life’s heavy load is lightened with grace,

In the depths of His love, find your eternal place. Amen.
