06-06-2026 2nd Timothy 4 V0108 I Have Finished The Race
The 2nd Letter of Timothy Chapter 4 Verse 1 thru 8
1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingly power: 2 proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching. 3 For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers 4 and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths. 5 But you, be self-possessed in all circumstances; put up with hardship; perform the work of an evangelist; fulfill your ministry. 6 For I am already being poured out like a libation, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. 8 From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all who have longed for his appearance.
In 2 Timothy 4:1-8, the Apostle Paul imparts profound wisdom and encouragement to Timothy, urging him to remain steadfast in his ministry and faith. Paul begins by reminding Timothy of the solemn charge before God and Christ Jesus—the ultimate judge—underscoring the gravity of preaching the Word, both in favorable and unfavorable times. This exhortation resonates deeply with believers today, as we are all called to bear witness to the truth of the Gospel, regardless of the challenges we face.
Paul forewarns Timothy that people will turn to teachings that suit their desires, seeking “ear-tickling” messages rather than the transformative truth of Christ. This serves as a poignant reminder for us to stay grounded in our faith and to share the unadulterated Word of God. In the face of a world that often contradicts biblical teachings, we must hold fast to our convictions, ensuring that our lives reflect the love and truth of Jesus.
As Paul nears the end of his earthly journey, he exemplifies faithfulness and perseverance, proclaiming that he has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. This powerful declaration inspires us to strive for the same commitment. The “crown of righteousness,” which Paul assures is reserved for all who long for Christ’s appearing, motivates us to press on.
In our daily lives, let us reflect on this promise: a crown awaits all who call upon the name of Jesus and live out their faith with courage and integrity. As we run our race, let us encourage one another, remain steadfast in prayer, and immerse ourselves in Scripture. Together, may we keep the faith and look forward to the glorious reward that Jesus has prepared for us. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**I Have Finished The Race**
In the shadow of the bold command,
A solemn charge issued, firm and grand,
Before the Lord who shall return,
In triumph bright, with hearts that burn.
Preach the Word, let the truth resound,
In season, out of season, let love abound.
Reprove, rebuke, and bring forth grace,
For time will come when truth’s out of place.
The ears will hunger for tales that please,
Tickled by whispers, they yearn for ease.
But stay steadfast; let your heart ignite,
For the race is set, and the goal is in sight.
Fight the good fight; your faith, hold tight,
Through trials and shadows, be strong in the night.
Finish the course, with courage embrace,
The crown awaits in the heavenly place.
Now laid up for me is the prize divine,
A crown of righteousness, a gift so fine.
Not just for me, but for all who believe,
Who long for His coming, the hope we conceive.
So carry the torch, let your spirit soar,
With love as your guide, and faith at the core.
For we are not alone in this noble quest,
In Him, our Savior, we find our rest. Amen.
