06-04-2026 2nd Timothy 2 V0815 We Deny Him He Will Deny Us

The 2nd Letter of Timothy Chapter 2 Verse 8 thru 15

8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David: such is my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering, even to the point of chains, like a criminal. But the word of God is not chained. 10 Therefore, I bear with everything for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, together with eternal glory. 11 This saying is trustworthy: If we have died with him we shall also live with him; 12 if we persevere we shall also reign with him. But if we deny him he will deny us. 13 If we are unfaithful he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself. 14 Remind people of these things and charge them before God to stop disputing about words. This serves no useful purpose since it harms those who listen. 15 Be eager to present yourself as acceptable to God, a workman who causes no disgrace, imparting the word of truth without deviation.

In 2 Timothy 2:8-15, the Apostle Paul emphasizes the significance of Christ’s resurrection and the transformative power it holds for believers. He begins by reminding Timothy of the central message of the Gospel—that Jesus Christ, descended from David, rose from the dead. This truth is fundamental to the Christian faith and serves as a beacon of hope for all who believe. Paul encourages Timothy to endure suffering for the Gospel, mirroring his own trials, and he illuminates the importance of remaining steadfast in faith despite adversity.

However, within these verses lies an emotional warning: if we deny Jesus, He will deny us. This admonition echoes throughout scripture, underscoring the gravity of our stance on Christ. Denying Him could manifest in various forms—through silence in the face of opposition, neglecting our witness, or outright rejection of His lordship. When we choose to distance ourselves from Christ, we not only forfeit fellowship with Him but risk being cut off from the promise of eternal life.

Paul continues to highlight the necessity of living according to the truth of the Gospel, urging believers to present themselves as approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. This calls us to an active, committed relationship with Jesus Christ wherein we are not only hearers of the word but doers as well.

In embracing our identity in Christ, we are challenged to uphold our faith boldly, knowing that it is through this faith that we will experience life eternal. Therefore, let us remember the gravity of our confession of faith. If we stand firm in Christ, we will be acknowledged before the Father; if we waver, we risk eternal separation. Let us, therefore, commit ourselves wholly to the truth of the Gospel, living as lights in a world that desperately needs hope. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**We Deny Him He Will Deny Us**

In shadows deep, where doubts may rise,

Remember Jesus, who broke the skies.

From David’s line, a promise true,

A Savior’s love, poured out for you.

He suffered much, a path of grace,

Enduring trials, He took our place.

In chains of earth, though bound in wear,

His Word goes forth, a flame to bear.

Hold fast the truth, let not it fade,

Like good soldiers, our lives displayed.

Endure with hope, resist the fight,

For crown awaits in Jesus’ light.

As workers strive with hearts set free,

Rightly divide the Word’s decree.

Approved by Him, deny not the Truth,

For if you deny Him He will deny you..

Awake our hearts, to honor keen,

In every word, let grace be seen.

In His great purpose, we stand anew,

In Christ alone, Him we pursue. Amen.
