The 2nd Letter of Timothy Chapter 1 Verse 1 thru 14

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God for the promise of life in Christ Jesus, 2 to Timothy, my dear child: grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 3 I am grateful to God, whom I worship with a clear conscience as my ancestors did, as I remember you constantly in my prayers, night and day. 4 I yearn to see you again, recalling your tears, so that I may be filled with joy, 5 as I recall your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and that I am confident lives also in you. 6 For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands. 7 For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. 8 So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God. 9 He saved us and called us to a holy life, not according to our works but according to his own design and the grace bestowed on us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but now made manifest through the appearance of our savior Christ Jesus, who destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11 for which I was appointed preacher and apostle and teacher. 12 On this account I am suffering these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know him in whom I have believed and am confident that he is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day. 13 Take as your norm the sound words that you heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14 Guard this rich trust with the help of the holy Spirit that dwells within us.

In 2 Timothy 1:1-14, the Apostle Paul writes to his beloved protegee, Timothy, offering both encouragement and a powerful reminder of the essence of faith. Paul, facing imprisonment and the threat of persecution, emphasizes the importance of standing firm in one’s faith and the crucial role of knowledge and passion for the Gospel. He urges Timothy not to shun his testimony about Jesus, even amidst persecution and societal pressure.

The key theme of these verses is the call to embrace our faith with power and self-control. Paul reminds Timothy that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). This message is timeless, urging us all to stand unwavering in our commitment to Christ. In a world that often challenges our beliefs, it is vital that we don’t shy away from sharing our experiences of surrender and the transformative power of accepting Jesus as our Savior.

By recalling the genuine faith that dwells within us (2 Timothy 1:5), we can strengthen our resolve to testify boldly about our relationship with Christ. Our testimony is not just a personal story but a powerful declaration of God’s work in our lives. It is a reminder that our surrender to Jesus is the source of our strength and identity.

As we engage with the world around us, let us remember Paul’s exhortation to Timothy. Let us wield the power bestowed upon us by the Holy Spirit. May we exercise self-control and clarity in our faith, guiding us to speak confidently about our testimony. Together, let us not be ashamed of the Gospel but proudly declare that Jesus is our Savior. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Our Savior Christ Jesus Destroyed Death**

In chains of ink, Paul writes with grace,

To Timothy, the faithful, in this sacred space.

A letter of love, of courage, and fire,

Encouragement flows, lifting hearts even higher.

From lineage rich, in faith he was raised,

A grandmother’s wisdom, a mother praised.

For the spirit of power, not fear, he shows,

In boldness we walk, as God’s love bestows.

Remember the gift that was laid in your hands,

Stir up the flame, for the calling still stands.

In trials we face and the suffering we fear,

Hold fast to the truth, for the Lord is always near.

“Not ashamed of the gospel,” Paul boldly proclaims,

In chains, he finds freedom in Jesus’ great name.

For our Savior has saved us, called us to light,

In the promise of grace, we find our true might.

Guard this treasure, with courage defend,

The faith that you’ve known, until the very end.

For in the midst of darkness, His love will appear,

A testament bright, dispelling all fear.

So send forth your message, let the world eternally know,

The power within you, like a river will flow.

Two lives intertwined, in purpose and care,

In Timothy’s journey, our hearts lay bare.

From Paul to Timothy, a legacy grand,

A call to remember, together we stand.

In faith’s gentle whisper, let truth ever reign,

For the light of our Savior will never wane. Amen.
