The 2nd Letter of Peter Chapter 3 Verse 11 thru 18
11 Since everything is to be dissolved in this way, what sort of persons ought [you] to be, conducting yourselves in holiness and devotion, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved in flames and the elements melted by fire. 13 But according to his promise we await new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 14 Therefore, beloved, since you await these things, be eager to be found without spot or blemish before him, at peace. 15 And consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, as our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, also wrote to you, 16 speaking of these things as he does in all his letters. In them there are some things hard to understand that the ignorant and unstable distort to their own destruction, just as they do the other scriptures. 17 Therefore, beloved, since you are forewarned, be on your guard not to be led into the error of the unprincipled and to fall from your own stability. 18 But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory now and to the day of eternity. [Amen.]
In 2 Peter 3:11-18, the Apostle Peter emphasizes the urgency of living a life in alignment with God’s will as we await the day of the Lord. He reminds us that the world as we know it will eventually be consumed by fire and that this certainty should motivate our actions in the present. Verse 11 emotionally asks, “Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?” This rhetorical question challenges us to reflect on our lives and encourages us to be diligent in our spiritual pursuits.
As believers, we must cultivate a deep yearning to be found “without spot or blemish” when we stand before Jesus at the judgment. This moment, inevitable for everyone, is not merely a passing thought but a profound reality. Whether we enter into eternal life or face eternal separation from God is determined by how we choose to live today. Therefore, we must approach each day with a sense of urgency, continually seeking to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord.
Peter also advises us to be on guard against false teachings that can lead us astray, emphasizing the importance of staying rooted in Scripture and the community of faith. In verse 18, he encourages us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” This growth enables us to develop a character reflective of Christ, allowing us to face judgment with confidence rather than fear.
As we breathe our last breath, let us do so with the assurance that we have lived in a manner that honors God, eager to meet Him without spot or blemish. The choices we make today lay the foundation for our eternal destiny—let us choose wisely. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

**Grow In Grace Of Christ**
In a world of fleeting time and space,
Where shadows dance and seasons trace,
A call resounds, profound and clear,
To live with purpose, shed our fear.
From the words of Peter, wise and true,
“To all that’s seen, there’s much to do.
The heavens will melt, the earth will fade,
So let your heart, in grace be laid.”
What manner of life should we then lead?
In holiness plant the righteous seed.
Anticipate, with hope as our guide,
The day of the Lord, when He will confide.
The sun shall rise, the skies ignite,
In fervent heat, all shall take flight.
Yet, from the ashes, new will bloom,
A promise of peace dispelling gloom.
So be diligent, grow in grace,
In knowledge of Him, we’ll find our place.
Stay steadfast, avoid the snare,
Of twisted truths that linger in the air.
With hearts ablaze and spirits bright,
We yearn for His coming, the ultimate light.
To Him be glory, now and eternally,
In our hearts, let His love blaze our soul faithfully.
Thus, brothers and sisters, hold fast and stand,
Embrace His promise, extend your hand.
For in this waiting, our hope won’t cease,
He’s with us always, our source of peace. Amen.
