The 1st Letter of Peter Chapter 4 Verse 7 thru 19
7 The end of all things is at hand. Therefore, be serious and sober for prayers. 8 Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without complaining. 10 As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace. 11 Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 12 Beloved, do not be surprised that a trial by fire is occurring among you, as if something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice to the extent that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice exultantly. 14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 15 But let no one among you be made to suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as an intriguer. 16 But whoever is made to suffer as a Christian should not be ashamed but glorify God because of the name. 17 For it is time for the judgment to begin with the household of God; if it begins with us, how will it end for those who fail to obey the gospel of God? 18 “And if the righteous one is barely saved, where will the godless and the sinner appear?” 19 As a result, those who suffer in accord with God’s will hand their souls over to a faithful creator as they do good.
In 1 Peter 4:7-19, the Apostle Peter addresses the early Christians who faced persecution and suffering for their faith. He begins with a powerful exhortation: “The end of all things is near; therefore be alert and of sober mind.” Peter encourages believers to live with a clear purpose, focusing on prayer, love, and service to one another. His message resonates deeply, especially today, as many still endure ridicule for their steadfast love of Jesus Christ.
In verse 14, Peter proclaims, “If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.” This verse serves as a profound reminder to those who suffer verbal or physical attacks due to their faith. Rather than despairing in such moments, Christians can find comfort in knowing that their suffering is a testament to their unwavering commitment to Christ. The presence of God’s Spirit amidst trials signifies His divine approval and companionship.
When we are mocked or derided for our love of Jesus, we are not alone; we are connected to a larger narrative that has empowered countless believers throughout history. God views our trials with grace, and this connection brings a profound sense of purpose to our adversity.
Peter’s closing remarks encourage believers to commit their lives to God while persevering under trials, knowing that their suffering will be transformed into something beautiful in His time. Therefore, let us rejoice, even in suffering, for we share in Christ’s glory, anticipating that one day, our struggles will lead to eternal joy. Let the Spirit of glory rest upon us as we stand firm in faith. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Those Who Fail To Observe The Gospel Of God**
In twilight’s glow, the end draws near,
A call to hearts, be wise, not mere,
For watchfulness and prayer combine,
In love’s embrace, let spirits shine.
With fervent love, let kindness flow,
For faces bright, in mercy glow,
As gifts bestowed, not meant to hide,
In service true, let grace abide.
Speak forth the words of hope and peace,
In strength, the weary find release,
With joy we share, in trials we stand,
For in His hands, we find His plan.
Rejoice, though fiery trials may come,
A chance to show His love’s not numb,
For in our suffering, glory’s revealed,
By trials faced, our hearts are healed.
As faithful stewards, we walk this path,
In trials embraced, we find His wrath,
Yet in each struggle, faith’s flame ignites,
Our eyes on Him, the source of lights.
Let us not fear, nor lose our way,
For Christ stands firm, our guiding stay,
In joy or sorrow, we hold Him near,
For through it all, His love is clear.
So bring your burdens to His throne,
In every trial, we’re not alone,
For as we suffer for His name,
We share His glory, and thus proclaim. Amen.
