You Sow to Respond. You Sow to React. You Sow to Rejoice in God’s Word.

The seed sown on the path is the one who hears the Word of the Kingdom without understanding it, and the evil one comes and steals away what was sown in his heart. Matthew 13:19

Jeremiah 3:14-17, Jeremiah 31:10, 11-12, 13 & Matthew 13:18-23

Jesus describes the four types of persons envisioned to carry His Message of Truth by using the Parable of the Sower of the Seeds. There are those who never accept the Word of the Kingdom by finding the seed sowed on the path they walk on. There are those who believe for a while but fall away because of persecution while walking on rocky ground of nonbelievers. There are those who believe, but in whom the Word is choked by worldly anxiety and the seduction of riches. And finally Christ’s parable of the Sower describes those who respond to the Word and produce fruit abundantly by allowing His Truth to guide their complete surrender.

After every Walk to Emmaus retreat weekend, every table leader will call their own candidates from their table and discuss with them how the week has been and if there’s anything they might need prayer for. As I called each yesterday discussing their week, I always ask if they had a chance to pick up the Word of God and make it a part of their daily routine. I always remind them that the evil one is not happy with our Spiritual discoveries from the Emmaus weekend and he’ll try extra hard to make them stumble. In guiding their discussion of God’s Truth, I can steer them to understand how important it is for them to respond to God’s Word in thought, action and deed as described in Matthew 13:23.

The seed sown on rich soil is the one who hears the Word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.”

Respond. React. Rejoice. Amen!

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today to be Sowers of Truth by following Christ’s Word. We pray for Julian’s recovery LORD. We pray day seven of a Novena of prayers for Steve’s intentions. We pray for the intentions of Tim Clark and David Haddox who I dedicate my poem to below. We pray for Mesfin Zabrocki and Lucy Moreira to be healed LORD. We accept Your Divine Will in all things. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

The Mercy of God in His Valleys of Truth- Psalm 23

I lack absolutely nothing

By the Shepherd of Life

Lying down in green pastures

In still waters I’m reborn to ignite

He leads me restoring my soul

Only His paths of Truth I find

For the sake of His Name I go

Allowing my life to be His in kind

The death in valleys I fear not

No evil will overcome my belief

Comforted by His rod and staff

His Truth I eternally conceive

God’s table is set before me

As enemies jockey to kill

He anoints my head with oil

I live according to His Will

As my cup overfloweth

Goodness and mercy I pursue

My life throughout all my days

In His House I live to never undue

The Mercy of God in His Valleys

Allow us to live for His Truth

In His 23rd Psalm of David

God’s Love is forever True
