‘You must repent,’ Peter answered, ‘and every one of you must be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’ Acts 2:38

‘I have seen the LORD,’ and that He had said these things to her. John 20:18b

Acts 2:36-41, Psalm 33 & John 20:11-18

Peter’s Speech at Pentecost brought about many things for the Disciples. First, they were received warmly by the crowd indicated in the response of Acts 2:37, “Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and they asked Peter and the other apostles, “What are we to do, my brothers?” This reaction gave Peter more fuel to capture the second Purpose that motivated them being the Holy Spirit descending upon the apostles preparing them to proclaim the new covenant with its unique gift of the Spirit.

Stop and think about the first time you felt the Holy Spirit lift your thoughts, your words and your actions to accomplish what God has intended for you. Maybe it was talking to a stranger about Jesus in a McDonalds. Maybe you felt the Spirit lift you when you were giving your first Emmaus talk. Maybe the Spirit gave you the courage to stop and talk to a homeless man or woman who obviously needed your act of charity. Whatever the Sprit leads you to do, you must practice, pray and preach to give yourself a true preparation to deal with whomever the Spirit leads you to.

You will find the Face of Christ in the people placed in your paths of life to accomplish His Will by taking on the Three P’s of Christianity in a moment-by-moment circumstance of surrender. The appearance of Christ to Mary Magdalene signifies His love of her and His Trust she will carry out His request to relay His message to the Apostles. You too will see His face in the people you witness to.

This appearance only happens in the Gospel of John whereby John gives the explanation of why Jesus calls the Disciples His brothers. The Father of Jesus will now become the Father of the Disciples because Jesus can give them the Spirit once He Ascends that comes from the Father and they can be reborn as God’s children. “Go to My brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.” John 20:17. The Spirit of God dwells in each of us as a Guide of Surrender. We must give our all to God’s Purpose to find His Spirit’s directives in all we do. Amen.

Dear LORD, we pray to be fed by Your Spirit by our practice, prayer and preaching. Guide us by Your Spirit to give more and expect less. We pray for my children. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:28

Spirit led God inspired Christ fed

To My God Your God I will commit- John 20:11-18

Mary Magdalene stood by the tomb crying

Peering in to see the Truth

Two Angels asked why are you weeping

When the Christ rose as Proof

The Proof called to her for seeking

Him at the tomb He has already rose

Not seeing Him fully

He was disguised at first to know

Mary Jesus called in remembrance

Of her devotion to the Truth to show

She said Teacher as He said don’t’ hold on to Me

To the Father I must now be obliged to go

To your Father and My Father I will sit

To My God Your God I will commit

To the Spirit of Love descending

The Holy Spirit of Him to Wit
