Be mindful of our sins by doing penance, daily prayerful reflection and fasting.

Yet even now—oracle of the LORD—return to Me with your whole heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Joel 2:12

We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2nd Cor 5:20c

When you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you. Matthew 6:6

Joel 2:12-18, Psalm 51, Second Corinthians 5:20–6:2 & Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

We often wonder how we are to call out to God in repentance returning to Him to find faith, hope and love in every aspect our lives accomplishing reconciliation with God moving Him to withhold punishment showering us with love. As a humanity, we are called to fast and pray often asking the LORD to forgive our transgressions sharing our abilities in service seeking complete reconciliation with God has Paul did in his ministry by his apostolic experience. We too are asked to be mindful of our sins by doing penance, daily prayerful reflection and fasting during the season of Lent receiving ashes 40 days prior to Easter Sunday as a symbol of penance made sacramental by the blessing of the Church helping us to develop a spirit of humility and sacrifice.

Christians who committed grave sins of the past used to have to do a public penance wearing shirts made of animals hair for the entire season as penance expecting to fast and pray constantly not allowing them to enter the church until Holy Thursday. Once the Bishop blessed them, the faithful recited the Seven Penitential Psalms turning the penitents out of the church because of their sins — just as Adam, the first man, was turned out of Paradise because of his disobedience. How do you reflect on your sin during the Easter Season? The LORD simply asks; “return to Me with your whole heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning.” Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today we can truly call out to You in prayer and fasting asking to be reconciled in Your Truth. Praying for the Emmaus Team of South Carolina, New Jersey and Harvard IL. Praying for Kairos Prison Ministry. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. Greg Bishop we love you, be strong in Christ. Day six of a Novena of Prayers for a teenager name Monica. Prayers for Marco. LORD, may our ashes today be a symbol of Truth to overcome sin. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Day of Salvation you gain– Second Corinthians 5:20–6:2

Ambassadors we are

Of Christ the Truth by far

Appealing through us to star

For God in life to mark

A reconciliation to God

He made Christ sin to nod

Not knowing sin in His bod

Taking lashes from the rod

Not knowing sin

Christ did win

The freedom to lend

Righteousness of God in Him

Receive not Him in vain

Thus you experience pain

From sin you live and reign

Day of Salvation you gain
