THE GOSPEL OF JOHN CHAPTER ONE 1 THRU 5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be 4 through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; 5 the light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.
We come to the beginning of a new year and we will begin with a new book or should I say a new gospel. Today will begin a verse by verse reading and translating into poetry probably over the next six months or more from start to end the Gospel of John learning who, what, when, where and why the foundation of humanity.
In the beginning was the word for the word was God and God we seem to forget is Jesus in the flesh aligning his mercy of grace to wipe away the offenses we humans who constantly sin seem to run away from. This is the mystery we must embrace without question seeking to align ourselves with the beauty of living redeemed where there is a fright that comes from living in front of humanity as a lover of Jesus afraid but living in strength of He Who began the world.
The book of John surely will rest in His sacrifice of giving your all to God First. In the beginning you will feel liberated and then all of a sudden the world will drag you down placing the flash and flare of temptation in your face and believe me we all know how that feels.
But I’m here to remind you on a daily basis that to receive this baptism and confirmation of everything Jesus gives us a constant righteousness that no one can take away. They may try to slap it out of you; I encourage you to then offer your other cheek. And endure the pain that God will heal you from. Practice. Pray. Proclaim. Amen.
Join us in our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Prayer intentions. Silence for the prayers of others. Holy Mother Church. In Jesus Precious Blood in His Name we pray. Amen.
