The pursuit of happiness is keeping His Word living the perfection God.

Whoever keeps His Word, the love of God is truly perfected in him. First John 2:5a

Shall be consecrated to the LORD. Luke 2:23c

First John 2:3-11, Psalm 96 & Luke 2:22-35

As we grow older, we want more than anything to become perfected in our quest to live life according to our own dares, desires and dreams. We want to be a perfected parent. We want to be a perfected doctor. We want to be a perfected spouse. We want to be a perfected teacher. We want to be a perfected friend. We want to be a perfected person but lack the desire to perfect our union with God unless we keep His Word. We can try and perfect life on our own terms but it is the wise man that perfects his life by obeying His Word.

I don’t have to quote Scripture to prove this for every human being responds to God’s grace whether we pursue it or not. I think the pursuit of happiness is described here by keeping His Word living the perfection God has orchestrated in each of us by His own Divine Will. We can live His Perfection but must admit we cannot live perfected without God as our guide. In everything we should acknowledge Him to find a perfection we all strive to discover in every corner of our lives.

I spent some time yesterday with the friend I’ve been praying for constantly as I call his name out often and ask God to deliver his cure from a recurring cancer that has spread to three different areas of the body. Our lives mirrored each other from one to 50 and I only know One Way to respond to illness and despair: God. As we began lunch, I reminded him to place “God First” extending my hands to pray with him asking God aloud to heal him placing my palm on his forehead in the symbolic gesture of laying hands.

The small deli became quiet to me as he accepted my gesture with confidence in God smiling his love for Him and his family. We began talking about life’s rewards stopping at a holy place surprisingly he knew to pray on a hill afterwards. “Be unafraid to pray anywhere, anytime and with anyone,” I told him in the restaurant. I discussed my plans to mirror his diet change beginning January 1, 2013 as we begin a fast to remove all obstacles in my life to focus on God’s Will.

They are asking him to remove the “food” cancer lives on such as sugar and breads replacing them with fruits and vegetables. If you love sweet tea as much as he does you’ll know his pain as he plans to remove meat from his diet as well. My plan is to remove “obstacles” to prayer and writing such as Face Book and my iPhone seeking God more profoundly praying aloud often for my friend Greg. If you have never consecrated your life to the LORD, then our new year of 2013 is a great time to start. Find the perfection God is asking of us all by keeping His Word I practice, praying aloud over everything you do and proclaim the Gospel with and without words- your life. Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray day 5 of our 12 Days of Christmas welcoming Christ’s Perfected love by studying His Word. Continued prayers for Greg Bishop as well as his physician and oncologist in Houston, Stanislaw R. Burzynski, M.D. We pray LORD, we can be forgiven for the sin we lived. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Jacob never returned to her to share her– Genesis 38

A story of Judah and Tamar

Tamar mourned Er who Yahweh took

The son of Judah she mistook

To live a life of love to cook

Judah told her to go home and mourn

Obliging she went to see dad’s love scorn

Her father-in-law went to the sheep to shear

She veiled herself and called him to veer

Along the road he found her still

Thinking she was a prostitute to fill

They had intercourse gaining twins

Unknown to him was the mother’s grin

She later was found out not to be who she was

Judah learned she was pregnant from love

She delivered two boys named Perez and Zerah

Jacob never returned to her to share her
