When His relatives heard of this they set out to seize Him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.” Mark 3:21

2 Samuel 1:1-27, Psalm 80 & Mark 3:20-21

Many relatives of Jesus and unbelieving scribes from Jerusalem attributed the powers of Christ as coming from Beelzebul, which translates literally into “Lord of Flies” meaning He appears as a demon describing the name of one of the seven princes of Hell. His own people chose not to believe Him as He obviously did healings and promoted love by Divine Power. There were those even among the relatives of Jesus who disbelieved and regarded Jesus as out of His mind (Mark 3:21). Soon we will learn in Mark that Jesus will respond to the arrival of His family by not showing family ties but doing God’s Will (Mark 35) is being decisive for the Kingdom of God.

We encounter this disbelief of Christ each day of our lives and some may even consider you as “off your rocker.” Jesus reminds us in John 15:18 that the world will hate you but to remember they hated His Truth first. Our lives of living for His Truth cause people to hate for they want nothing more than to live in their selfish joy of denial. I have learned to embrace Christ’s words in Matthew 10:22 to persist to the end. “You will be hated by all because of My Name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved.” Yesterday at our school we had a peace march in support of the freedom Nelson Mandela pursued for the people of South Africa. He once said, “We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.”

Today we will be praying at the abortion clinic here in South Miami to reflect on the disbelief of many Americans who believe it is Ok to kill the life of a baby for any reason whatsoever. This unbelief is similar to the unbelief of the scribes and family of Jesus who sought to seize Him because they believed He went against the Truth God instilled in the hearts of mankind. Nelson Mandela’s words above resonate in the soul of humanity as the Truth we must seek to manifest by acknowledging Gods glory and not our own. God did not give us “free will” to kill but to celebrate life in all stages. We, humanity, must do as Jesus and Nelson Mandela did; promote peace and love to heal all things and forgive. We must continue overcome abortion’s tragedy on the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade by faith, hope and love in not aggression but by prayer and deed. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to always share our belief of Your Son’s Truth. We pray for the babies that will die today from abortions. We begin our prayers for the NJ Emmaus Team and future candidates of their June Emmaus Retreat. We pray for Pam Bishop. We pray for LIFE FM. I pray for my wife, children, family, and friends. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:28

Spirit led God inspired Christ fed

Anyone who Follows Me will have Eternal Life- Mark 3:20-21

The crowds persisted constantly as they ate

Making a meal impossible to eat or even make

The Scribes had labeled Him Beelzebul to hate

Even His own relatives disbelieved His fate

‘He is out of His mind’ they said aloud

How can He heal and silence the crowd?

It must be Beelzebul He uses to heal

Demons cleaning demons obviously His deal

Jesus persisted even as they conferred

To kill Him for His lessons they learned

My Way is the Truth and the Light

Anyone who Follows Me will have Eternal Life
