Universal Utterings for 12-15-2013

You too must be patient. Make your hearts firm, because the coming of the LORD is at hand. Do not complain, brothers, about one another, that you may not be judged. Behold, the Judge is standing before the Gates. Jm 5:8-9

Jesus said, “The poor have the Good News proclaimed to them. And blessed is the one who takes no offense at Me.” Matthew 11:5f-6

Isaiah 35:1-6, 10, Psalm 91, James 5:7-10 & Matthew 11:1-11

There is something to be said about making “our hearts firm” in joyful living even as others walk over the Truth in waiting for the LORD. Time-and-time again God tells us not to judge “therefore not be judged” in the decisions one makes to live out the life God has granted us. I know, it’s hard not to complain about the travesty and injustice seemingly happening in every city across the world. We must hold fast to the notion taught by Christ Himself remembering as James wrote in chapter five, “Behold, the Judge is standing before the Gates.” Living without judgment prepares you for the adjudication God will bestow on you when His Will strikes you down as you prepare to be lifted up in His Eternal Breath of Living in His Forever Love.

The Gospel today reminds me of a t-shirt I wear given to me by my beautiful wife Toni who will wear similar t-shirts herself. The t-shirt I wear has the face of Jesus in obvious anguish from the death He bore for all depicting the thorns in Blood Red dripping down His face with a caption; “He died for you. Now live for Him.” This shirt creates obvious tensions in public as well as praise allowing the grace of Christ to envelop your soul. I will wear it today encouraging us all to live for the Jesus Who died to forgive you, guide you and heal you asking you then to proclaim the Good News to the poor as well as the rich praying openly with those who react in blessings judging not those who react with offense. Live as Jesus teaches: “blessed is the one who takes no offense at Me.” Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray to be patient sharing the Good News as we love. Novena prayers day five for Brian to find work. Greg Bishop has our never-ending prayers. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. LORD from Psalm 91:15-16, I chant, “He will call upon Me and I will answer; I will be with him in distress; I will deliver him and give him honor. With length of days I will satisfy him, and fill him with my Saving Power.” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

I am surrendered in Christ,

Wearing hair of camel not lace of fine gold– Matthew 11:1-11

The one who baptized was held
In prison by force to smell
John who Baptized so well
Sending his questions to tell

Has all been fulfilled by Your coming?
Or does another be witnessed this shunning?
Replying in Truth not cunning
Jesus told them to tell John He wasn’t running

Relay what you see and believe
The deaf hear as the blind see
Raised are the dead to conceive
Blessed is he offense takes none of Me

John would soon hear
The love of He Who calms all fear
Speaking to the Crowds Jesus would sear
The heart of all about Baptizing John so dear

In the desert they saw the Prophet foretold
Wearing hair of camel not lace of fine gold
Written for all so many years ago
Greater none Baptizing John Heaven does know
