THE GOSPEL OF LUKE CHAPTER 17 SEVEN THRU TEN
7 “Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, ‘Come here immediately and take your place at table’? 8 Would he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You may eat and drink when I am finished’? 9 Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded? 10 So should it be with you. When you have done all you have been commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.’”
When did you learn that being a disciple of Christ was not a profitable situation? We look around our World and see mega pastors who lavishly live the rich and famous lifestyle arguing Jesus, our Father and His Spirit so Holy wants us to enjoy the riches of our world. Yes, I believe the treasures of Christ come from sharing the redemptive lifestyle wanting to live with less to share the more of life eternal yet I have seen firsthand the fight of living with less than a home
People are afraid to live as humans living off the land traveling seeing the world hand to hand. No, humanity would rather Live in air-conditioned comfort as we all are used to in today’s world. Living in love with Christ’s duty is gracious only in commands fulfilled and living for the one and only God you should serve; Jesus! I have never met a person who has not told me that they see you so enlightened by simply sharing their time, talent and treasure not looking for a reward. Let us not to run away from serving let’s find how do serve first hand. Amen.
