Wig’s Word of God Today 4-10-2012
Two of them were on their way to a village called Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. Luke 2:13b
Their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him. Luke 24:16
Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer before entering into His glory? Luke 24:26
Acts 3:1-10, Psalm 105 & Luke 24:13-35
If you have ever been on an Emmaus Retreat, you will indentify with today’s message from Luke that describes the “Walk to Emmaus” by two Disciples who were on their way home from Jerusalem after the death and reported rising of Christ. Many of you like me have probably walked the road to Emmaus many times since your weekend asking the LORD this or that seeking the sign you require to fulfill your complete surrender to God and His Son’s Way of faith, charity and love of your fellow man.
God instilled in you His grace to complete the weekend and therefore you are living proof of His beckoning of you to become a surrendered follower of His Son’s Truth. Now that you have begun your own walk to Emmaus, remember the Disciples were prevented from seeing Jesus in the beginning of their walk just as you will be prevented from seeing Him in your walk unless you open your heart to find Him in everything you do. What is separating you from your complete surrender to a Life of Christ?
When He opens your eyes in the Scriptures, He will in turn open your heart to His face in the people you encounter daily as the sharer of His Gospel to help people find His Redemption and life of complete trust, devotion and commitment to live a life in His care. During this journey, you will begin to find how necessary it was for Jesus to suffer for the sins of humanity and by your practice of reading your Bible daily; you too will live a devotional life of prayer to embrace His calling of proclamation as a natural part of living for His Truth. Amen.
Dear God, we pray to recognize Jesus in our won walk to Emmaus by a life of practice, prayer and preaching. Teach us LORD to live by Your Decrees in every step we take. We pray for my children. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:28
“Spirit led God inspired Christ fed”
Jesus Christ is Risen He is Risen Indeed to Save us- Luke 24:13-35
Two began their walk
To their home in Emmaus
Just living the talk
Of the Truth Christ had gave us
They were frightened by His death
They were amazed a man knew it not
When approached out of no where
As they walked along not in a trot
Eyes shadowed from seeing His face
He asked them what they talked about to state
Surprised He didn’t seem to know the facts
They asked are you the only one who seemed to lack
The knowledge of a Savior’s death
How He taught and preached with great respect
Mighty in deed and Word before God
The chief priests and rulers crucified His bod
They explained they thought He was the One
To redeem the world from selfishness and fun
The fun of sin is too much to take
He rebuked their own inability to state
How the Christ must suffer as the prophets relayed
Many years ago as the Christ did pay
For His glory was predestined by God to say
Jesus must die for the sins of the world’s dismay
Then this man relayed the prophet’s thoughts
Without missing a beat to discover the lot
When Emmaus came into sight their hearts were seared
By the Truth He spoke to eliminate their fears
They asked Him to stay for it was near night
He agreed and sat to have a bite
He took the bread and said His blessing
Their eyes were opened to the Christ in resting
As He appeared from nowhere as the man they walked with
Christ disappeared as quick as they humbly noted
Haven’t our hearts been burning within us?
He opened the Scriptures to know and to assure us
Returning to Jerusalem fast paced and gracious
To summon the Eleven to share the LORD’s graces
The LORD has been raised and appeared to Simon
They recounted the steps they took to Emmaus
Jesus Christ is Risen He is Risen Indeed to Save us
