THE GOSPEL OF LUKE CHAPTER 23 33 THRU 38

33 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him and the criminals there, one on his right, the other on his left. 34 [Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.”] They divided his garments by casting lots. 35 The people stood by and watched; the rulers, meanwhile, sneered at him and said, “He saved others, let him save himself if he is the chosen one, the Messiah of God.” 36 Even the soldiers jeered at him. As they approached to offer him wine 37 they called out, “If you are King of the Jews, save yourself.” 38 Above him there was an inscription that read, “This is the King of the Jews.” 39 Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying, “Are you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us.” 40 The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply, “Have you no fear of God, for you are subject to the same condemnation? 41 And indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

Celebrating Veterans Day for God ties into a knot the calling of our Lord to feed those who are hungry as much as give them drink when they thirst while others still have not experienced the sounds of bar doors slamming with loud buzzers seemingly echoing through your brain. If you have experienced this, then you know that to come to grips with sharing Redemption with humanity as God calls us all to do we must share with those jailed for criminalities our society asked them to subdue. Once you enter a compound no matter its size, you’ll begin to interact with those in charge and the others they deny in most cases pushing them aside yet getting some to work extremely hard even behind wires of razor that can slice skin but cannot does not keep in the whispers of God’s grace elevating our souls.

Today I will be spending some time with veterans who made some wrong choices not really understanding most of the times why until they recognize God as the reasons not to die away in light blue concrete walls as they appear to swallow you whole- we all seem to feel lost and alone falling into holes often because of alcohol and drugs wanting to escape the reality of post traumatic stress disorder or the calling of riches Satan employs on all. My story today speaks of this encouragement God gave me in grace. My actions as a young man joining the Navy gave me and escape from a town where other people there we seem to hold onto no matter the cost sometimes landing you here behind these grey walls of shame where the only way to overcome is by acknowledging redemption to share and find comfort in to rest and to rest thoroughly.

Join us in our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Prayer intentions. Silence for the prayers of others. In Jesus Name. Amen. Precious Blood

**Soldiers too mocking force**

Jesus Crucified Skull called place
Level unacknowledged temporal hate
Left side criminal right side waste
Do not know them forgive Father their fate

Lots casted garments his
Him sneered rulers watched
God’s Messiah Chosen whiz
Himself save others washed

Soldiers too mocking force
Jeering Jews King choice
Hanging criminal reviled coarse
Us You save rejoice

Him rebuked others remorse
God fear not condemnation same
Crimes ours correspond our divorce
Criminal nothing man has no blame

Ask to enter Heaven clean
Me remember Kingdom stores
You Amen saying Jesus pristine
Paradise Me today yours
