While He was at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many who followed Him. Some scribes who were Pharisees saw that He was eating with sinners and tax collectors and said to His disciples, “Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus heard this and said to them [that], “Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.” Mark 2:15-17

First Samuel 9:1-4, 17-19; 10:1, Psalm 125 & Mark 2:13-17

Jesus may have said, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s,” but haven’t we always had a hard time paying taxes constantly seeking to escape paying the lowest possible levis we can. Levi better known as Matthew was a tax collector who saw more than money in Christ; He saw the freedom of Truth in living faith, hope and love given by God. Jesus drew the weak to Him by the strength felt in God’s Miracles knowing if He could heal lepers and make the blind see He could certainly help those who were sick of being called the outcasts of their regions more so the ones who collected taxes making a profit by what they charged on top of what is owed. They were the thieves among the poor living rich adrift in sin searching for Truth to set them free.

Jesus looked for the sinners of sick souls expecting the righteous to carry themselves by their willingness to love and give forgiveness. He gave us this example in judging the adulteress, “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” I know, it’s tough to eat with sinners let alone be seen with them. First, God asks us not to judge anyone as we seek to embrace love and forgiveness as the core of living for God First. This means welcoming all who are in need as much as those who provide. Yes, we are all sinners living righteous to know Salvation in the faith, hope and love we live in charity. Repent and hold on judging not the sinner or yourself amercing yourself in His Word to practice, pray and proclaim love and forgiveness. Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray to judge not eating with sinners as proof. Novena prayers day six for Tampa Emmaus. Novena prayers day eight for Jon Michael “Mike” Fernandez. Novena prayers day nine for Thomas S. Constant prayers for TD. Greg Bishop has our never-ending prayers. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. LORD from Psalm 125:4, I chant, “Do good, LORD, to the good, to those who are upright of heart.” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Sinners with love humanity must comply– Mark 2:13-17

Along the sea He walked
Teaching the crowds who endlessly stalked
Passing the post of customs talk
Levi the tax collector stood and balked

Me to Follow said the Christ
Asking a sinner not thinking twice
Following Levi would suffice
His customs post to learn what is nice

Taking table in his house
Jesus sat and ate with many a sinning louse
Scribes were jealous mocking Him loud
Eating why with tax collecting sinners proud?

Physician not needed for the well to deny
Sick must too find the Truth to supply
Sinners with love humanity must comply
Sinners called by Christ as the righteous know to vie
