Sinners repentance not righteous call to relax

THE GOSPEL OF LUKE CHAPTER 5 27 THRU 32

27 After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the customs post. He said to him, “Follow me.” 28 And leaving everything behind, he got up and followed him. 29 Then Levi gave a great banquet for him in his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were at table with them. 30 The Pharisees and their scribes complained to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” 31 Jesus said to them in reply, “Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do. 32 I have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners.”

I’ve been asked a few times whether or not I’m afraid when I approach those seemingly less fortunate than I am but in reality, the world has captured them in some sort of Satanic high they cannot come down from. What we find in most cases is somebody living homeless professionally I like to say. You know who they are in your community you see them often they normally stay within a 5-mile radius of where they know that they can eat, drink and get whatever their intoxication of choice is. My dad used to come home smashed God rest his soul he was mean, verbal and physical teaching me shyness until the age I joined the Navy- then life changed creating a fear of being quietly near.

I became an out going loud seemingly a comic bouncing on a constant funny bone trying to laugh in public being drawn to sobs in private. This brash and rude behavior came from a fear of being traumatized held against your will choked to the point of passing out. For years I ran from the pain hiding what Jesus already knew wasn’t insane it was a coping method dealing with shame. So fright doesn’t make my heart go to their past it takes me to where I am in reality helping someone unable or willing to grasp the beauty of redemption many of them believe they could never be forgiven for their past. The sick need our surrender to the Master Physician encouraging the healthy to find their Salvation in obedience release of love, faith and hope of life eternal. Amen.

Join us in our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and Rose for me. Prayer intentions. IN Jesus Name. Amen. Precious Blood
