Scourging of Jesus Pilate ordered
1 Then Pilate took Jesus and had him scourged. 2 And the soldiers wove a crown out of thorns and placed it on his head, and clothed him in a purple cloak, 3 and they came to him and said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck him repeatedly. 4 Once more Pilate went out and said to them, “Look, I am bringing him out to you, so that you may know that I find no guilt in him.” 5 So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple cloak. And he said to them, “Behold, the man!” John 19:1-5

Pilate seemingly had no choice but to scourge Jesus ordering him to suffer at the hands of his Roman guards who took Jesus and clothed him in a cloak of purple weaving thorns into a crown and slicing his head with deep points. The sight of Him must’ve been overwhelmingly grotesque filled with envy and selfish acts of murderous thoughts where they had no desire to let up on the man that could’ve given them Life Eternal.
The guards brought him back asking the Jews to look at their king yelling hail mighty one as His dripping flesh was literally leaving the track of His blood where ever he walked. Again Pilate stated he found no guilt in Jesus and led him before the Jews stating as we often do to our own lives denying the man that has been tortured for no reason other than to take upon Him the sins of the world similar to how we treat ourselves in situations that we are overcome with the zealous desire to live in the world rejecting what Christ should mean to each and every one of us , which is the Charity of love, hope and faith of Life Eternal in Redemption. Amen.

Scourging of Jesus Pilate ordered
Thorns crown wove soldiers placed
On head of Jesus wrapped in cloak purple
Jews king hail they yelled spitting in his face
Repeatedly he was struck dripping in blood
Brought back to Pilate they couldn’t understand his love
He had guilt none Pilate announced in shame
Cloak purple thorns crown Jesus bearing our pain
