Rightly testify me strike why
The Gospel of John 18 19 thru 24
19 The high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and about his doctrine. 20 Jesus answered him, “I have spoken publicly to the world. I have always taught in a synagogue or in the temple area where all the Jews gather, and in secret I have said nothing. 21 Why ask me? Ask those who heard me what I said to them. They know what I said.” 22 When he had said this, one of the temple guards standing there struck Jesus and said, “Is this the way you answer the high priest?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken wrongly, testify to the wrong; but if I have spoken rightly, why do you strike me?” 24 Then Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
To expose one soul to the world seems so difficult to most but to dispose of sin publicly makes everyone else seem like toast. We want to deny openly what our sin has been hiding in the shadows of the explicit rubbing our shins wanting to rid this feeling that attaches itself to every part of your being. You can feel sin being erased when you say the name of Jesus! This is what frightens most of us in the beginning to be able to say the name Jesus without fright. Jesus expressed to Anna’s the truth for nothing was hidden that had not been revealed by Jesus and it frightened their way of life and even to this day the Jewish community has their own beliefs still in place of the Messiah spoken and proved by every Biblical recollection by the Name of Jesus. So, when you speak of Jesus speak of mercy and pray for those who seem to hate you the most and yes this may be family but remind yourself that Jesus told us we would walk these trails finding paths that seem blocked but are always open in the spirit we each live and received by our confession of Christ eternal where Baptismal waters have washed you clean. Amen.
