Rejoicing forgot grace pain
2 CORINTHIANS CH 1 V23-24 & CH 2 V1 THRU 4
23 But I call upon God as witness, on my life, that it is to spare you that I have not yet gone to Corinth. 24 Not that we lord it over your faith; rather, we work together for your joy, for you stand firm in the faith.
1 For I decided not to come to you again in painful circumstances. 2 For if I inflict pain upon you, then who is there to cheer me except the one pained by me? 3 And I wrote as I did so that when I came I might not be pained by those in whom I should have rejoiced, confident about all of you that my joy is that of all of you. 4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not that you might be pained but that you might know the abundant love I have for you.
We all want to make sure that we don’t include our really good friends in the pain that we might be feeling but I think Paul began to see that maybe the agony that we are experiencing is denotes anointing allowing you, me and others to grow seeking Jesus over the pain we originally carried that consumed our souls. This pain can be so different for so many people maybe you hate snakes or maybe you’re afraid of encountering the less fortunate too afraid for your own safety.
Paul too was just as afraid including the many circumstances that placed him under murderous threats yet carry a light of Christ that shone through the hate allowing real healing to take place with those of no faith. This is where we all must be firm as Paul reminds the Corinthian’s to continue the joy of Jesus. God really wants us to understand that our hearts and anguish should be given back in love abundant rejoicing and confident that others will witness salvation where death frightens only those who don’t repent daily of their sins. Amen.
Join us in our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and Rose for me. Prayer intentions. IN Jesus Name. Amen.
