Wigs Word of God Today Universal Utterings for 11-3-2013

When He reached the place, Jesus looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house.” And he came down quickly and received him with joy. Luke 19:5-6

Wisdom 11:22–12:1, Psalm 49, 2nd Thessalonians 1:11–2:2 & Luke 19:1-10

The wonder of Jesus will create in you a desire to go above and beyond the call to meet Him in everything you do. The Tax Collector Zacchaeus was certainly example of what type of gumption it takes to meet and experience Jesus by this risky yet guided behavior of God. Sometimes it is hard for us to see what is front of us or around us until we climb a tree or a mountain and see the Truth God instills in every horizon or landscape we take in to live His Divine Will.

As a child, my father used to carry the nickname “squirrel” causing me to think I was tree climber when I learned of his childhood passion. I would climb trees all the time until one day when I was just eleven or so, I climbed a tree in Miami at some friends place which I believe was a mango tree. At about thirty feet up I missed a branch catching myself in a free fall of only a few feet that shook me to my core. As I hugged the tree many feet up I thanked God I was saved as I crawled down in complete shock.

Without God I went up and with God I came down never really knowing how to act with God until I came back to climbing with God as my guide. Are you willing to look for different ways or places of wonder where the desire to go anywhere for Jesus brings you the joy Zacchaeus felt that day? When we climb for Christ, we take courage to conquer His Creation in Truth sharing His Salvation. Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray to climb and find the perspective you ask of us to live in Your Will LORD. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. Greg Bishop has our prayers often each day. LORD from Psalm 49:4, I chant, “My mouth shall speak words of wisdom, my heart shall offer insights.” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Jesus walked through Jericho
Collector chief of tax would show
Zacchaeus though rich never did grow
Stature was short climbing a tree to show

Running ahead what would he see?
A sycamore Jesus would pass scampering up the tree
Zacchaeus short no more was seen by Christ complete
Waving him down joy greeting he would meet

People would grumble Jesus embraced him so
Tonight Jesus would stay at his house to know
Supper with the LORD stirring his heart so
Half his wealth Zacchaeus gives to the po

Even extortion he would return with a grin
Repenting from excess a tax collectors sin
Salvation announced by the Christ all would win
Lost He would Save Son of Man he would begin
