Wigs Word of God Today 7-21-2013

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of His body, which is the Church, of which I am a minister in accordance with God’s stewardship given to me to bring to completion for you the Word of God. Colossians 1:24-25

Martha, burdened with much serving, came to Him and said, “LORD, do You not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me.” The LORD said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.” Luke 10:40-42

Genesis 18:1-10, Psalm 15, Colossians 1:24-28 & Luke 10:38-42

We all know a few Martha’s and Mary’s in our lives who seem to take different paths of surrender to a Way of Christ either wanting to listen and learn or busy themselves with worry of work. It’s when we see the two types of personalities combined do we see the temperament of a saint who seeks nothing more than to do God’s Will in the honor of Truth every second of every day. Here, we find the joy of suffering for the Sake of God’s Word relishing in the “stewardship” choosing the better part that offers God’s only path to Heaven.

Yes, we must serve as well as listen ridding our anxiety for heeding the call of Truth. We must finds ways to help others identify with listening and working by Christ’s faith of charity. We will encounter the voice of Christ by listening to the hope of God’s Word. We will feel Christ’s love by the tears, God-bumps and lack of breath as you are whisked away in thoughts of adoration. Listen to overcome worry as you work to abide in what you hear. Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray we listen and act on Your Truth. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. Greg Bishop has our constant prayers. LORD from Psalm 48:14c-15 I chant- “tell future generations: That this is God, our God for ever and ever. He will lead us until death.” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Village to learn and listen
Worry by some who might
Forget the better part of glory
As Christ sits in their sight

Sisters to visit and ponder
Welcomed by Martha’s peace
Martha asked Him to make Mary work
As she listened to His love by His feet

Work was the stress of Martha
Jesus gave her a sigh
Anxious your heart to worry
Choose as Mary Jesus the Better Part of Life

Christ’s love can never be taken by strife
