Gospel of Mark Ch 6 v- 17 thru 20

17 Herod was the one who had John arrested and bound in prison on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, whom he had married. 18 John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” 19 Herodias harbored a grudge against him and wanted to kill him but was unable to do so. 20 Herod feared John, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man, and kept him in custody. When he heard him speak he was very much perplexed, yet he liked to listen to him.

The words of John spoke of honoring your God. When you take the rules into your own hands and everybody else knows but does nothing because you are king, then the one who acts according to the Truth will always be looked down upon especially when the flesh gets in the way because for some reason we consider the feeling we get when we are sexually charged by another thinking we can overlook the rules of God by fashioning our own responses. Nobody liked John in Herod’s kingdom but the ones who kept it to themselves abiding to honor the king openly where soon we learn that even a child can dance their way to having others removed for the sake of their own mother’s feelings wanting to honor mom or king even over God. This is our choice today; honor God or honor man or woman or whatever feeling you have to be when people call your name for mankind has the fundamental right to live as they want no matter the lie one reports. Our society as a whole has lost their way denying God will prove judged one day. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty we pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. Silence for the prayers of others dealing with the war in Ukraine. In the Holy Spirit we pray our brothers in Kairos the especially a prayer for our men in blue. We pray for Holy Mother Church. 09-01-2022 Mark’s Gospel Ch 6 v-1720

**Lawful not John said**

The one who arrested John was Herod

Herodias truly was the reason

Wife to his brother married by Herod too

Lawful not John said no matter the season

Grudge harbored by Herodias

But unable to have him killed

John was feared by Herod

Man holy and righteous God willed

Herod in custody John kept

Perplexed much by his speaking word

Him listen to without much respect

Even though John spoke godly words heard
