Universal Utterings for 12-2-2013

“LORD, I am not worthy to have You enter under my roof; only say the Word and my servant will be healed. For I too am a person subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come here,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those following Him, “Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith.” Matthew 8:8-10

Isaiah 4:2-6, Psalm 78 & Matthew 8:5-11

Faith in His Word goes a long way as Jesus expresses His admiration at having such faith in the midst of being in charge of those who ultimately oppose or do not believe His Kingship as the Holy One of God. This Centurion had a lot to worry about being a follower or believer of Jesus could have made his life very difficult. But He chose the “better part” mimicking the Words used by Luke in His Gospel chapter 10:42 assuming a risk worth taking.

We too find it risky for some reason to show our faith as much as speak our faith of Christ in public. We shy away in situations where we need Him the most and it is our faith that will change the world’s reactions of God’s love lived first. Ask the question: Are you worthy to have Jesus enter under your roof by the actions we take for Him daily? I know, Jesus only has to say the Word but He must hear first the confession of faith that connects the world to His love. “LORD, I am not worthy” but “only say the Word” and “my soul shall be healed.” Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray to listen and heed Your Word. Novena prayers day six for Jose Morales of NJ. Novena prayers day seven for Pat Shagrue. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. Greg Bishop has our prayers often each day. LORD from Psalm 78:1, I chant, “Attend, my people, to my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth.” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

I am surrendered in Christ,

Kingdom of Heaven holding a banquet– Matthew 8:5-11

Centurion summoned
Life from Christ
Appealing in person
His Servant suffering twice

Let us go Jesus said
Healed he will be
No the Roman led
Unworthy for You to see

My roof of authority
Subjected to others will
They do as I say
My authority can kill

Amazed was Jesus at hearing
The faith of a Roman to hear
West and east are stirring
Of saints who live without fear

These will recline with saints of old
Kingdom of Heaven holding a banquet
With your healed servant you shall go
Jacob, Isaac and Abraham telling stories of faith to know
