Jesus words Peter remembers times three denied
Gospel of Mark Ch 14 v- 66 thru 72
66 While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the high priest’s maids came along. 67 Seeing Peter warming himself, she looked intently at him and said, “You too were with the Nazarene, Jesus.” 68 But he denied it saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are talking about.” So he went out into the outer court. [Then the cock crowed.] 69 The maid saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.” 70 Once again he denied it. A little later the bystanders said to Peter once more, “Surely you are one of them; for you too are a Galilean.” 71 He began to curse and to swear, “I do not know this man about whom you are talking.” 72 And immediately a cock crowed a second time. Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had said to him, “Before the cock crows twice you will deny me three times.” He broke down and wept.
The most famous denial of any person ever known. Peter denying Jesus. His denial coincided with his foretelling of Peter’s response and how he would use it to place the Rock of the Church on claiming Life Eternal against the Gates of Hell. Peter like Paul are truly forgiven and lived Redeemed as the teachers of the Church’s very beginning. Matthew 16:18-19 says it best; “And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Peter surely was to be forgiven for God knew he would deny him for in this denial he won freedom to preach truly about him and the News we call Good became everything to Him and those around him. The beginning of The Church began with a denial to save his life from certain death or at least not until God’s Will was fulfilled to establish The Church on earth forever more. Surely, you have done the same. You have denied Him and sought freedom from being associated with Him by your lack of practice seeing the Word of God as a chore instead of the love that resides from it not as soul can ignore. One day each and every one will say, “God help me.” As others repeat His Name unceasingly praying aloud for you in their proclamation of being true. You too can become one of these; practice, proclaim and pray unceasingly mind and soul. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty we pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. Silence for the prayers of others dealing with the war in Ukraine. In the Holy Spirit we pray our brothers in Kairos especially a prayer for our men in blue. We pray for our niece Brittany who is a mother of four and 33 years old who has brain cancer stage four. We pray for Holy Mother Church. We pray for our Holy Mother. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Courtyard below Peter stood warm
Maid of priest high stopped with a scorn
Him she intently looked at completely torn
Jesus the Nazarene with you someone you adorn
Saying his denial your talking about nothing I know
Court outer Peter went as the cock crowed
Again seen by the maid and she let him know with a show
Bystanders she addressed about him and Jesus he had no where to go
Denying it came swift immediately he had known
Later bystanders asked him them with surely you are
Galilean too are you they said obviously shown
Swear and curse began Peter stated know man not from a far
Second time crowing cock immediately crowed
Jesus words Peter remembers times three denied
Before crowing cock cried aloud Peter showed
Weeping and broken down running to hide the face that lied
