05-16-2026 Acts 18 V1928 They Explained The Way Of God
The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 18 Verse 19 thru 28
19 When they reached Ephesus, he left them there, while he entered the synagogue and held discussions with the Jews. 20 Although they asked him to stay for a longer time, he did not consent, 21 but as he said farewell he promised, “I shall come back to you again, God willing.” Then he set sail from Ephesus. 22 Upon landing at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church and then went down to Antioch. 23 After staying there some time, he left and traveled in orderly sequence through the Galatian country and Phrygia, bringing strength to all the disciples. 24 A Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, an eloquent speaker, arrived in Ephesus. He was an authority on the scriptures. 25 He had been instructed in the Way of the Lord and, with ardent spirit, spoke and taught accurately about Jesus, although he knew only the baptism of John. 26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the Way (of God) more accurately. 27 And when he wanted to cross to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. After his arrival he gave great assistance to those who had come to believe through grace. 28 He vigorously refuted the Jews in public, establishing from the scriptures that the Messiah is Jesus.
Acts 18:19-28 presents a vivid narrative of God’s work through dedicated individuals like Apollos and Aquila and Priscilla, reflecting the profound impact of embracing the Word of God. In this passage, we find Apollos—an eloquent man, well-versed in Scriptures—teaching fervently about Jesus. However, he possessed only a partial understanding, accurately preaching the baptism of John but lacking clarity on the fullness of the Gospel.
When Aquila and Priscilla encounter him, they see potential in his passion but also recognize his incomplete knowledge. With grace and humility, they invite him into their home and explain “the way of God more accurately.” This moment beautifully illustrates that while Apollos was gifted in his pursuits, it was through the teachings of others that his understanding deepened. They provide him with fuller truth, demonstrating the importance of community in spiritual growth.
As we reflect on this passage, we are reminded that embracing the Word of God is transformative. The Holy Spirit works within us, bringing enlightenment and clarity beyond our own limited understanding. When we delve into God’s Word, we allow the Spirit to guide us, shaping our hearts and minds in ways that surpass human wisdom. Our spiritual journey is not meant to be solitary; we grow together, learning from one another and from the truths revealed in scripture.
In a world often clouded by confusion and misunderstanding, let us lean into the Word, trusting that the Holy Spirit will illuminate our paths, providing us with insights that elevate our comprehension of divine truths. By engaging with the Scriptures and one another, we will find ourselves increasingly equipped to share the fullness of God’s love and grace with others. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
05-16-2026 Acts 18 V1928
**They Explained The Way Of God**
In the town of Corinth, where waters gleam bright,
Paul journeyed with purpose, under God’s guiding light.
He met Priscilla and Aquila, a couple in grace,
Together they forged a small haven, a sacred space.
With fervent hearts, they shared the good news,
In synagogues and houses, the Word they would choose.
Then came Apollos, a gifted speaker of might,
With passion ablaze, he proclaimed with delight.
Yet knowledge was partial, his teachings not whole,
He knew of the baptism yet missed the true goal.
Priscilla and Aquila, with wisdom sincere,
Took him aside, and the truth they made clear.
“More than the water, there’s a Spirit to find,
A baptism of hope, for the faithful and blind.”
And Apollos listened, with humility’s grace,
He welcomed their guidance, grasped their embrace.
In Ephesus then, he preached with fervor and zeal,
With fervent conviction, the truth he would reveal.
The hearts of the listeners, they stirred with delight,
As the Gospel spread forth, from the day into night.
Oh, Acts of the Apostles, let your lessons endure,
In the journey of faith, let our hearts stay pure.
For like Apollos, may we seek and learn even more,
Growing in knowledge, in Christ’s love we’ll explore. Amen.
