05-06-2026 Acts 15 v0106 They Reported What God Had Done With Them
The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 15 Verse One thru Six
1 Some who had come down from Judea were instructing the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the Mosaic practice, you cannot be saved.” 2 Because there arose no little dissension and debate by Paul and Barnabas with them, it was decided that Paul, Barnabas, and some of the others should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and presbyters about this question. 3 They were sent on their journey by the church, and passed through Phoenicia and Samaria telling of the conversion of the Gentiles, and brought great joy to all the brothers. 4 When they arrived in Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church, as well as by the apostles and the presbyters, and they reported what God had done with them. 5 But some from the party of the Pharisees who had become believers stood up and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them and direct them to observe the Mosaic law.” 6 The apostles and the presbyters met together to see about this matter.
Acts 15:1-6 recounts a pivotal moment in the early Church, addressing a significant theological debate arising among the believers. Some men from Judea arrived in Antioch, teaching that unless Gentile believers were circumcised according to the Law of Moses, they could not be saved. This issue sparked considerable dissent and disagreement among the followers of Christ, emphasizing the challenges the early Church faced in defining faith and salvation.
As tensions grew, the apostles and elders convened in Jerusalem to address the question. This moment illustrates the importance of community and leadership in navigating complex issues of faith. The early Church exemplified a willingness to gather in council, reflecting a collective pursuit of understanding God’s will and purpose. Their deliberations remind us that faith is rarely exercised in isolation; rather, it thrives in community, where wisdom is shared, and diverse perspectives are considered.
In our own lives, we may encounter similar challenges and questions about our faith. Whether it’s grappling with doctrinal uncertainties, personal struggles, or societal pressures, it is crucial to seek the guidance of spiritually mature leaders. Your pastor is an invaluable resource during these times, equipped to provide insights grounded in Scripture and experience. They can help clarify our understanding, offer counsel, and remind us of God’s promises.
So, when faced with doubts or difficult questions, take a moment to connect with your pastor, your deacons or other leading lay ministers who offer prudence and holy spirit support. They can help illuminate the path forward, addressing issues with wisdom and compassion. As we navigate our faith journey, let us remain open to seeking guidance from those who are spiritually equipped to assist us. Together, we can foster a deeper understanding and embrace the transformative power of God’s grace. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

Ephesians 6:17-20
05-06-2026 Acts 15 v0106
**They Reported What God Had Done With Them**
In ancient days, a tale unfolds,
Of faith and grace, of truth retold.
In Antioch, the voices rose,
With questions deep, where tension grows.
Some came proclaiming, “You must be bound,
By Moses’ law, in rituals found.”
The Gentiles listened, their hearts perplexed,
Was salvation tied to what’s been hexed?
Paul and Barnabas took a stand,
With fervent hearts, they led the band.
“To Jerusalem, let’s go see,
The elders, the apostles, in unity.”
Gathered there, the council met,
To weigh the matter, to hear the threat.
With wisdom flowing, and stories shared,
Of grace unmeasured, of love declared.
“Why do you burden with heavy yoke?
By faith we’re saved, no law to provoke.”
A word of peace spread through the crowd,
In Christ alone, we’re free and proud.
So in the clash of old and new,
The church stood firm, as hearts withdrew.
For love abounds, and grace is key,
In every soul, both you and me. Amen.
