05-03-2026 1 Peter 2 v0109 Whoever Believes Will Not Be Put To Shame
1st Letter of Peter Chapter 2 Verse One thru Nine
1 Rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, insincerity, envy, and all slander; 2 like newborn infants, long for pure spiritual milk so that through it you may grow into salvation, 3 for you have tasted that the Lord is good. 4 Come to him, a living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen and precious in the sight of God, 5 and, like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For it says in scripture: “Behold, I am laying a stone in Zion, a cornerstone, chosen and precious, and whoever believes in it shall not be put to shame.” 7 Therefore, its value is for you who have faith, but for those without faith: “The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” 8 and “A stone that will make people stumble, and a rock that will make them fall.” They stumble by disobeying the word, as is their destiny. 9 But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises” of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
In 1 Peter 2:1-9, the apostle Peter urges believers to rid themselves of malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander. Instead, he calls them to crave spiritual nourishment, likening this desire to that of a newborn baby longing for its mother’s milk. This imagery emphasizes the importance of faith as the foundation of spiritual growth and maturity. By feeding on the Word of God, believers can experience transformation and become living stones in the spiritual temple that God is building.
Peter highlights that through faith, we come to Jesus, the cornerstone, who, though rejected by men, is precious and chosen by God. Our identity as a “royal priesthood” and “holy nation” underscores the transformative power of faith. It connects us to God’s promises and enables us to partake in His divine nature. Without this faith, we miss the fullness of the joy of salvation. It is through faith that we can truly appreciate the grace granted to us and experience the hope of eternal life.
Moreover, Peter reminds us that faith is not merely an isolated belief but an active relationship with the living God. It inspires us to worship, serve, and share our faith with others. In sensing the depth of our salvation, we find purpose and a calling to reflect Christ’s light in a world needing hope.
Thus, let us cling to faith—an essential anchor in the storms of life. It is our faith that illuminates the path to joy, assures us of God’s promises, and fills our hearts with gratitude for His love. Without faith, we remain distant from the beautiful hope of eternity. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day Eight for Marco’s business. Novena Day Four for Ivanna Barrios for cancer. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
05-03-2026 1 Peter 2 v0109
**Whoever Believes Will Not Be Put To Shame**
In shadows long where silence lay,
The heart awakens to a new day.
With words like honey, sweet and pure,
A call to love, to trust, to endure.
So cast aside all malice, deceit,
The weight of envy that drags our feet.
In the light of truth, let kindness bloom,
For from the ashes, new life will loom.
Like newborn babes, we crave the light,
A spiritual milk to nurture our sight.
To grow in grace, to thirst and yearn,
In every moment, the truth we discern.
For we are living stones, each one a part,
Built on the cornerstone, Christ’s loving heart.
A holy priesthood, a chosen line,
To proclaim His praise, in every design.
From darkness raised to marvelous beams,
Held in His promise, alive in dreams.
A people redeemed, set free to sing,
In glorious union, our voices ring.
So let us live, as lights in the night,
Declaring His glory, reflecting His light.
With hearts open wide, in love we abide,
For we are His people, forever His guide. Amen.
