The 1st Letter of Peter Chapter 2 Verse 19 thru 25
19 For whenever anyone bears the pain of unjust suffering because of consciousness of God, that is a grace. 20 But what credit is there if you are patient when beaten for doing wrong? But if you are patient when you suffer for doing what is good, this is a grace before God. 21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his footsteps. 22 “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” 23 When he was insulted, he returned no insult; when he suffered, he did not threaten; instead, he handed himself over to the one who judges justly. 24 He himself bore our sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you had gone astray like sheep, but you have now returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.
In 1 Peter 2:19-25, the apostle emphasizes the profound theme of enduring unjust suffering, encouraging us to respond with grace rather than retaliation. The passage highlights that suffering for doing good is commendable in God’s eyes, urging believers to maintain their integrity even amidst injustice. This calling mirrors Christ’s own experience, where He faced ridicule and suffering without retaliating, embodying the ultimate example of patience and love.
In today’s world, many face personal suffering that can feel isolating. For example, in the current woke culture, children may cancel their parents over differing beliefs or mistakes from the past, causing deep emotional wounds. This situation reinforces the importance of forgiveness and grace, as we navigate the complexities of family bonds. Instead of responding to hurt with resentment or bitterness, we are called to rise above and continue acting with love and goodness.
Peter reminds us that enduring hardship in silence while remaining steadfast in our faith is a reflection of God’s grace manifesting through us. When we confront unjust treatment, we not only preserve our dignity and witness but also align ourselves with Christ’s suffering. Our response—guided by grace—can pave the way for healing and reconciliation.
As we strive to do good in the face of adversity, we must hold steadfast to the belief that our actions have eternal significance, even when we don’t see immediate fruits. Embracing this path of grace is crucial, especially when personal struggles arise. Thus, let us continually seek to embody the essence of Christ’s love, patiently navigating through our pains, knowing that we contribute to a greater narrative of hope and redemption when we let go and let God be first in every situation. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

Ephesians 6:17-20

**Guardian Of Your Souls**
In shadows deep where trials lie,
The righteous bear what none deny;
For in the suffering, grace is found,
A love that lifts, a hope unbound.
When unfair pain and scorn arise,
With hearts like Christ, we seek the skies;
Not for reward that men might bring,
But through our wounds, the hymn we sing.
For He who suffered, pure and just,
Bore every fault, fulfilled our trust;
With open arms, He took our shame,
A shepherd’s heart, His love the same.
He spoke not words of bitter spite,
In silence found His strength, His light;
Reviled, yet grace He chose to show,
A path of peace that we might eternally know.
So, let us walk in footsteps clear,
Embrace the trials, cast off our fear;
For in our plight, His mercy shines,
In every bruise, His love entwines.
To suffer rightly, honor in the way,
Reflecting Him in each dismay;
For by His wounds, we find our role,
In pain and joy, He heals the soul. Amen.
