The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 9 Verse One thru Nine

1 Now Saul, still breathing murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, that, if he should find any men or women who belonged to the Way, he might bring them back to Jerusalem in chains. 3 On his journey, as he was nearing Damascus, a light from the sky suddenly flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” 5 He said, “Who are you, sir?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 6 Now get up and go into the city and you will be told what you must do.” 7 The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, for they heard the voice but could see no one. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing; so they led him by the hand and brought him to Damascus. 9 For three days he was unable to see, and he neither ate nor drank.

Acts 9:1-9 tells the transformative story of Saul of Tarsus, a fervent persecutor of Christians, who encounters the living Christ on his way to Damascus. Saul was a man driven by zeal, believing he was upholding the faith by imprisoning believers and suppressing the fledgling Christian movement. However, in a moment marked by divine intervention, he is struck by a blinding light from heaven and hears Jesus’ voice asking, “Saul, why are you persecuting me?” This profound encounter illustrates that even the most unlikely individuals, those steeped in opposition to the Gospel, can be radically transformed by Christ.

Saul’s transformation serves as a powerful reminder to us all. It underscores the limitless reach of God’s grace—a grace that is not confined to certain “acceptable” people but is available to anyone, regardless of their past. If Christ can change the heart of Saul, who later becomes the Apostle Paul, the very architect of Christianity, there is no one beyond His touch.

In urging us to believe in the transformative power of Jesus, we recognize that the promise of conversion extends to everyone: the doubters, the skeptics, and even those who vehemently oppose Him. It invites us, as believers, to embrace hope for those around us, understanding that no one’s heart is too hardened for God to soften.

Thus, as we reflect on Saul’s journey, let us hold on to the belief that every life is a potential canvas for God’s grace. Let’s pray for open hearts and remain steadfast in sharing the Gospel, for there is not a person Jesus can’t touch to convert them, if only we’d believe. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

04-24-2026 Acts 9 v0109

**For Three Days He Was Unable To See**

In shadows deep, where footsteps tread,

A soul embattled, a heart of dread,

Saul of Tarsus, fierce and bold,

With rage and anger, his story told.

He breathed out threats, a stormy breath,

Against the followers of Christ, he sought their death,

With letters sealed, he journeyed far,

To silence the faith, to extinguish the star.

But lo! A light, more brilliant than day,

From heaven’s height, it pierced his way,

It blinded his vision, a shattering blast,

In that moment, the die was cast.

“Saul, Saul, why do you fight?”

A voice like thunder, bathed in light,

“I’m Jesus, whom you persecute,

Your path of darkness, I now refute.”

Trembling and stunned, he fell to the ground,

In this divine moment, a grace profound,

“Rise, go forth, in the city abide,

For there awaits, your purpose, your guide.”

In those three days, in silence confined,

He pondered the truth, he sought to find,

For in the darkness, seeds were sown,

A heart transformed, a spirit grown.

So let this tale of Saul’s great change,

Remind us all, we are not too strange,

For in our journeys, the lost may see,

The power of grace to set us free. Amen.
