The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 4 Verse 23 thru 31

23 After their release they went back to their own people and reported what the chief priests and elders had told them. 24 And when they heard it, they raised their voices to God with one accord and said, “Sovereign Lord, maker of heaven and earth and the sea and all that is in them, 25 you said by the holy Spirit through the mouth of our father David, your servant: ‘Why did the Gentiles rage and the peoples entertain folly? 26 The kings of the earth took their stand and the princes gathered together against the Lord and against his anointed.’ 27 Indeed they gathered in this city against your holy servant Jesus whom you anointed, Herod and Pontius Pilate, together with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, 28 to do what your hand and [your] will had long ago planned to take place. 29 And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and enable your servants to speak your word with all boldness, 30 as you stretch forth [your] hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” 31 As they prayed, the place where they were gathered shook, and they were all filled with the holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

Acts 4:23-31 presents a powerful moment in the early Church, illustrating the profound impact of spirit-filled believers. After facing persecution and threats from the authorities, Peter and John return to their fellow believers to share their experience. Instead of retreating in fear, the Church gathers in prayer, recognizing their dependence on God. They boldly acknowledge God as the Creator and remember His promises, invoking His power to embolden them in the face of adversity.

In this passage, the apostles ask for divine courage to speak God’s word fearlessly. Their petition is met with an extraordinary manifestation of the Holy Spirit: the place they meet shakes, and they are all filled with the Holy Spirit, empowering them to proclaim God’s message with boldness. This event signifies not only their anointing but also a clear reminder that, through faith in Jesus Christ, we too receive the Holy Spirit. When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we become vessels of His power, equipped for His mission.

It’s essential to recognize that this anointing is available to all believers. The Holy Spirit empowers us to live out our faith authentically, enabling us to navigate the challenges of life with confidence. Like the early disciples, we are called to come together in prayer, to encourage one another, and to proclaim the gospel boldly.

As we reflect on this scripture, may we be reminded of our identity as Spirit-filled believers. Each of us is empowered to share His love and truth with the world, emboldened by the same Spirit that shook the foundations of that gathering long ago. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

04-13-2026 Acts 4 v2331

**They Were All Filled With The Holy Spirit**

In a room where shadows fade,

The faithful gather, unafraid,

Their voices rise in fervent prayer,

A bond of unity laid absolutely bare.

Once they faced the threat of night,

Boldly they spoke of truth and light,

But now together, hearts aglow,

They turn to God, their strength to show.

“Lord, you made the earth and sea,

The heavens speak of your decree,

In days of old, they raged and fretted,

But your purpose stands, unthreatened, unvetted.”

With courage born from shared despair,

They lift their pleas into the air,

“Forgive us, Lord, for fears that bind,

Inspire us now, in heart and mind.”

The ground beneath them starts to shake,

A presence felt, a holy wake,

The Spirit moves, like fire ignites,

With boldness bestowed, they take to heights.

They speak of grace, proclaim with might,

In storms of doubt, they’ll be the light,

For in their hearts, a flame shall burn,

A passion fierce, to serve and learn.

O for a faith that cannot break,

That rises strong with every quake,

In every word, in every deed,

Let love abound, let hope take heed.

Together as one, they stand so tall,

Emboldened by the One who eternally calls,

United in purpose, spirits vast,

In Christ, their future, unsurpassed. Amen.
