The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 4 Verse One thru Twelve

1 While they were still speaking to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple guard, and the Sadducees confronted them, 2 disturbed that they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. 3 They laid hands on them and put them in custody until the next day, since it was already evening. 4 But many of those who heard the word came to believe and (the) number of men grew to [about] five thousand. 5 On the next day, their leaders, elders, and scribes were assembled in Jerusalem, 6 with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly class. 7 They brought them into their presence and questioned them, “By what power or by what name have you done this?” 8 Then Peter, filled with the holy Spirit, answered them, “Leaders of the people and elders: 9 If we are being examined today about a good deed done to a cripple, namely, by what means he was saved, 10 then all of you and all the people of Israel should know that it was in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead; in his name this man stands before you healed. 11 He is ‘the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.’ 12 There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved.”

Acts 4:1-12 presents a powerful moment in the early church, highlighting the unwavering courage of the apostles Peter and John as they stand before the religious authorities. After healing a lame man, they boldly proclaim the message of Jesus Christ, despite facing opposition. This passage underscores the central theme of salvation through Christ alone, encapsulated in Peter’s declaration that “there is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved” (Acts 4:12).

In a world filled with various philosophies, beliefs, and paths claiming to offer fulfillment or salvation, this scripture takes a firm stance, affirming that true salvation is found only in Jesus. The exclusivity of this statement challenges both believers and seekers alike to consider the implications of faith in Christ. It is not just about acknowledging Jesus as a moral teacher or a prophet; it is about recognizing Him as the singular Savior of humanity, whose name carries the weight of redemption.

For early Christians, this message was radical and transformative. Peter and John faced imprisonment for their convictions, yet they stood firm, driven by the truth of the resurrection and the hope it brings. Today, this passage calls us to reflect on our own faith and the testimonies we share. Are we bold in proclaiming that salvation is found in no other name? As we live out our faith, may we remember the profound truth that through Jesus, we find eternal life—a hope that transcends earthly struggles. In affirmation of this truth, let us share with others the good news of salvation in Christ alone. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**He Is The Stone Rejected By You**

In the heart of the city, with courage ablaze,

Peter and John spoke in bold, fervent ways.

The temple was bustling, the people had gathered,

But the message of Christ, the rulers all shattered.

They preached of the Savior, Risen from the grave,

In Jesus alone, the world could be saved.

But soon came the leaders, with anger entwined,

Arrested the two, their freedom confined.

“By what power, by what name,” the council inquired,

As they stood firm in faith, they never tired.

Peter, empowered by Spirit divine,

Declared “In the name of the Lord, we will shine.”

For the stone that you rejected, now stands as the cap,

In Him lies our hope, our faith, and our map.

No other foundation, no name we can claim,

In the saving embrace of Jesus, we eternally reign.

With boldness and love, they bore witness true,

Proclaiming salvation for all, for me and for you.

For there’s no other name, under heaven or earth,

Through Jesus alone, we find our true worth.

So let us remember, like Peter and John,

In trials and troubles, His light carries on.

With courage unyielding, proclaiming His name,

For in Christ, we rise, and in faith, we reclaim. Amen.
