His taught love of kindness, compassion and forgiveness.

Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ. Ephesians 4:32

It is written in the prophets: ‘They shall all be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to My Father and learns from Him comes to Me. John 6:45

First Kings 19:4-8, Psalm 34, Ephesians 4:30–5:2 & John 6:41-51

We’ve all heard the old adage, “It takes 7 muscles to smile but 539 to frown.” This brings me to believe you are seven times more likely to smile when meeting someone for the first time versus taking not seven muscles but seven times seventy-seven muscles to frown as you greet the beauty of the world. It surely leads credence to the thoughts of God giving us strength when we are weak in the slightest form possible for I am surely strongest in Christ when I am at my weakest point by living His faith, charity and love. Is compassion not hope in charity? Is forgiveness not faith in love? Is kindness not love of forgiveness?

We are at our strongest place as humans when we forgive living in celebration of life allowing our thoughts, actions and deeds to be of heavenly purpose. I often notice homeless people panhandling or resting in a cool shade when I travel allowing me an opportunity to share Christ’s compassion and kindness encouraging the one I meet to know Christ’s forgiveness forming in them Eternal Life. Each has a story untold yet surprisingly understood by all as life’s training takes over when we meet people in need.

While in NJ over the summer, I met a man who had been homeless for five years suffering from many ailments that causes him constant pain. He sat that day under a shade tree with grass as soft as snow rubbing his legs as he held onto a cane for support. His smile was beautiful against the backdrop of green as the 57-year-old very light skinned African American reached out to shake my offered hand of kindness. “Hi, my name is Thomas. Are you hungry or in need of clothes?” Shaking his head yes to both I sat down next to him in the soft grass and chatted briefly with him to get to know him.

I found out two days later when we returned to a store there He was suffering from cellulitis from his knees down pulling up his sweat pants to show me yellow socks and bandaged legs of three week old bandages we would soon cut off after I returned from getting him some shoes, clothes, medicine and bandages. I poured hydrogen peroxide on his legs lighting up in dazzling white of infection I learned the yellow of the socks was the oozing of the sores as the smell of infection curdled my nose hairs. It soothed him so much when I cleaned his wounds and bandaged him he often cried lightly tears of joy as I tended his sores. Once I finished, I got him redressed in clean clothes and some new shoes and he got up walking on air. His eyes of green set against the redness of his skin brought such peace to me as we held hands in prayer. It is my belief in the surrender I have given to God by the Instruction of the One and Only True Teacher of kindness, compassion and forgiveness guiding what we are taught by His Son’s Gospels leads me to imitate His love. His taught love of kindness, compassion and forgiveness. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today to live for kindness, compassion and forgiveness as instructed by Your Son. We pray day seven of a novena of prayers for Holly the homeless pregnant woman as we seek to help place her child at birth. We accept Your Divine Will in all things. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Life’s Poetry I love to express myself in poetic versus’ As a plane falls from the sky to land with a loud jet noise

I see the lines transform from an amazing joy The beauty of flight reminds me of my childhood time “Zoom” I scream with my hands so high Holding a model F16 yearning to learn how to fly My thoughts ignite my words into the beauty of life Little boy dreams sometimes feel so right Even as I matured poetry became a big part of my fight The expressions of laughter, of God’s love came into clear sight I fought to express myself in and out of public’s eye I have learned to accept life’s hurdles with Christ as my guide Truly Life’s Poetry was meant to be told Christ has instructed us to let love unfold Unfold your Soul to the beauty I see I promise the joy I experience will be transferred to thee
