Universal Utterings for 12-29-2013

And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the Name of the LORD Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Col 3:17

Sirach 3:2-6, 12-14, Psalm 105, Colossians 3:12-21 & Matthew 2:13-15, 19-23

Some twenty years ago, a young man wanted to help in the process of teaching others how to become a God-fearing Catholic by surrendering to the faith, hope and love of Jesus Christ explaining what it means to accept and live in His Salvation. This young man was my sponsor and his job was to help me to understand what it meant to be a Christian for I had no idea how to lead my life as a Child of God. Over the years we lost touch with one another but this young man never gave up hope of finding me scouring the internet recently finding my Scripture Study and calling me yesterday to talk for over an hour.

Today I celebrate his fortitude to find his protégé practicing, praying and preaching the Gospel as described today by Paul in Colossians doing everything in the Name of our LORD Jesus. I say think you to Mike S. for showing me the Way of Christ reminding him to live as Paul taught by the Word of God. “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.” Together we can accomplish so much in the Name of Charity that brings us all Salvation. Let us be thankful today to the men and women who help others to know the Saving Power of Jesus Christ. Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray to do everything in the Name of Jesus Christ. Novena prayers day three for Paula Wilkinson. Greg Bishop has our never-ending prayers. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. LORD from Psalm 105:1, I chant, “Give thanks to the LORD, invoke His Name; make known among the peoples His Deeds!” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Paul asked the Colossians to seek
Not the hand of sin to be weak
Not the garments of lust that reeks
Only God’s Holy Ones who speak

The Truth of Christ for all to know
Humility and gentleness rules the show
Forgiving one another to always grow
In Christ the perfection love can sow

Hearts controlled by peace
Not sinful ugly and fleece
Thankful the Word of Christ in deed
His Name thanks the Father complete
