And He also told them a parable. “No one tears a piece from a new cloak to patch an old one. Otherwise, he will tear the new and the piece from it will not match the old cloak. Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be ruined. Rather, new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins. [And] no one who has been drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’” Luke 5:36-39

Colossians 1:15-20, Psalm 100 & Luke 5:33-39

We become set in our old ways and hesitate or deny the new with such fervor we sometimes kill whatever tries to change us. Jesus was no different and He instills in us the same need to change today as He did 2000 years ago. The generation of the time though much smaller still had a hard time accepting God’s new Covenant of Love by Jesus Christ the Messiah opting instead to nail Him to a tree keeping old rules accepting not that He was the One and Only Way to Heaven. Here, we find the Truth cannot be killed or set aside for as we all know the Gospel is Everlasting unlike the fragile bodies of man made strong in determination but weak in self-will. Our desires to change are killed in other ways we intentionally set to live a life of self.
We’ll forgo reading the Bible to latching onto an illuminating screen by the loss of self. We’ll forget how to pray captured instead by the sounds that draw us into the dark finding our attention is stolen by the desires of the heart. We’ll stop talking about God and opt instead to speak of false witnesses who obviously wreak havoc on the souls of many while we deny anything is happening right in our hands, homes and habitats of our old self. We must respect the old and evangelize the new as the same ironic message Jesus parables in not wanting new wine for we are drinking the old satisfactorily. What is old Law is still a part of the New Law established by Christ foretold by the Divine guidance in Prophets of Old. Love the Old live the New together they spell Salvation for you. Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray to love the old in living the New. Novena prayers day three for Nadege Robergeau in Haiti. Novena prayers day seven for Sabina Romero. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. Greg Bishop has our constant prayers. LORD from Psalm 80:18-19, I chant- “May Your hand be with the Man on Your Right, with the Son of Man Whom You made strong for Yourself. Then we will not withdraw from You; revive us, and we will call on Your Name.” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

I am yours in Christ,

Ephesians 6:17-20

Good is the past foretold– Luke 5:33-39

Pharisee teamed up
The Scribe to casting
Asking Jesus observing
Disciples aren’t fasting

John who baptized
Fasting disciples know
The ache of an empty belly
Unlike yours who show

Eating and drinking a plenty
Celebration under tow
Bridegroom is now present
The love of life they grow

Nothing of past continues
The parable of the new and old
Old cloak not used to patch
The match will forever show

Bursting at the seams you’ll lose
As wine poured into skins of old
New wine made to be ancient
Dripping on the floor to scold

Will anyone want new?
The joy of living the old
Is joined as one man knew
Good is the past foretold
