(Jesus) rose from supper and took off his outer garments. He took a towel and tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and dry them with the towel around his waist. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Master, are you going to wash my feet?” Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later.” Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Master, then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well.” Jesus said to him, “Whoever has bathed* has no need except to have his feet washed, for he is clean all over; so you are clean, but not all.” For he knew who would betray him; for this reason, he said, “Not all of you are clean.”

John 13:4-11

Once there was an issue with some young adults in our neighborhood that happen to be neighbors from across the street, police have been called several times and you could see families band together to protect their own. My wife and I am went across the Street and asked if we could pray with them of course we all did but The wonderful thing that happened through all of this is the way that my wife reacted in prayer. She set up a foot washing station on Good Friday in the middle of our neighborhood as people drove by to offer the washing of their feet and to pray for our neighborhoods safety and peace periodMany people I’m sure were asking, “What good will this do?” Just as Simon Peter was unsure why the Master would want to wash his feet learning to be served takes just as much humility to serve creating a point not a soul could un-sharpen but only utilize to pierce the vices of sin. This ability will come when you notice practice, prayer and proclamation is a daily routine that creates a desire to serve learning to be served we come full circle in a union establishing the inheritance Jesus permits in a confession of him as your Lord and Savior exuding humility sharpened only by Redemption. Amen.

Join us in our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and Rose for me. Prayers for all who have asked us to pray for them or we said we’d pray for. Prayers for JSRW. IN Jesus Name. Amen.
