Dying child worriedness shun
The Gospel of John Four 46 thru 54
46 Then he returned to Cana in
Galilee, where he had made the water wine. Now there was a royal official whose
son was ill in Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee
from Judea, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, who was
near death. 48 Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you
will not believe.” 49 The royal official said to him, “Sir, come down before my
child dies.” 50 Jesus said to him, “You may go; your son will live.” The man
believed what Jesus said to him and left. 51 While he was on his way back, his
slaves met him and told him that his boy would live. 52 He asked them when he
began to recover. They told him, “The fever left him yesterday, about one in
the afternoon.” 53 The father realized that just at that time Jesus had said to
him, “Your son will live,” and he and his whole household came to believe. 54 [Now]
this was the second sign Jesus did when he came to Galilee from Judea.
We want a sign. We see the signs everywhere yet we still
want to experience the miracles ourselves. Nothing short of amazing will
do. We want the miracles not just what
Jesus did while He was here as proof. We want our own! We want we can’t have
from God without seeing the expectations of life eternal as an automatic. Why
do others receive these life changing miracles and you do not? We then carry
our wants into our own realities making more to find the same leaning to excess
finding life shortened as fame where the do’s and don’ts or other desires find
you too focused, too famished and too fantasied to make anything except excess
of what we see, taste, feel, smell and hear as the illusions God refuses to show
at out beck and call until one is taken or all disappears.
Our official royal must have been really worried about his
son seeing death loom can excite and cause harm to others without realization
but this man assured his wife and set out to find Jesus once hearing of His
arrival back to their town. Jesus started there His walk of fame to shame creating
wine out of water at the Wedding of Cana. This wonder maker was back and the
rich came to believe from tasting the wine above every other wine knowing Jesus
could heal because he had discerned life by Him and he had come to believe. Ah,
to say yes when others say no because you believe in His Will in His ability to
create the miracles of learning where we get what we believe by love, faith and
hope of humility to accomplish life’s charity knowing our reward is Life
Eternal. Amen.
